It’s a request for the time we invest in WoW to feel rewarding again, and yes, that IS extra important right now because of the number of people stuck in quarantine who need as many distractions as possible.
Ion in that interview is of course trying to have it both ways.
They’re happy with removing the randomization (of TF’ing), happy with PvP (which isn’t a random gearing system), and “maybe” they could do something about raids and dungeons, which you know… are terrible by comparison with the PvP track.
That’s a you problem. My time is still rewarding.

And yet I see someone post that anyone that doesn’t do mythic shouldn’t be playing WOW. Who died and elected them pope. There is more to the game then end game stuff. And yet every xpac there are those that will spend 2 days nonstop to get to max level and cry there is nothing to do. We all know that xpacs are for 2 years. So why the hurry. I just like to take my time and enjoy the game. You play the way you want and I’ll play the way I’ve been playing for the past 8 years. I’ll respect your view and expect the same respect for mine.

I’d like to take multiple characters to heroic raids like I used to in MoP and early Legion.
With gearing being so heavily RNG based and drop rates so low, that’s just not going to happen.
Even without the goal of heroic raiding, it’s fun to progress our characters: loot based progression has been the center of WoW since vanilla. In past xpacs I’d take 4-5 characters into LFRs just because it was fun and you saw regular progress.
It’s not that I’m not able to achieve a certain minimum ilevel on these characters that’s the issue but that gear progress is so slow it doesn’t even feel worth it to start in the first place.
Again, don’t want the loot shower, but the drought is just as bad.
Actually on a lot of things I’m on your side. I see people cry about gear drops at time because they want the top gear for doing middle level stuff in the game. I agree that they don’t need gear higher than the content that they play. I said I don’t complain about gear. Why, because my gear is high enough for me to do what I enjoy doing. If you are running higher levels and getting crap or no drops then I can understand your frustration. I’m just not in the same place. I’m not here to argue. And I hope you start getting better drops. But to use Covid as an excuse for better drops is just wrong. There is a better way to get your point across without people getting upset. Some people have already lost loved ones from the virus. For me I’m high risk and I’m upset when people make an issue of wearing a mask. But enough of a rant. Enjoy what you are doing and good luck with your gear drops. We all need some level of relaxing to get away from real life at times.
Quarantine or not the loot situation is terrible. Spending endless hours in dungeons and raid to get almost nothing is killing all desire to play. There is some cool stuff this expac, but content needs a reward of some kind. I started the expac a bit late and I’ve been trying to push past the 200 ilvl soft cap and it’s been rough. Running almost 30 dungeons over the last week and getting almost nowhere has effectively destroyed my desire to play. I’m done doing the same thing over and over with nothing to show for it.
The amount of dungeon and raid drops needs to improve. It’s too hard to increment your ilvl with the current difficulty of dungeons. Everyone running keys above 10 only wants to make it fast and easy and run with toons that are heroic raid geared, because surprisingly, they also don’t want to struggle for no reward. Can’t even blame them for not wanting to toil for nothing.

How are we, as players, screwing anyone? Blizz is already talking about changes to the loot system.
The point people in this thread are making is that a comparison to a pandemic and the OP wanting multiple alts raid ready a week after they’re leveled is insane. If he doesn’t get this gear, he’s got no reason to play. And apparently everyone NEEDS all of their alts at 200+ because we’re all in our houses.
There’s a difference between the concern over the droprate and using a pandemic to beg for gear, apparently making the game not worth playing.

we had our first full raid and lost another healer today because he didnt want to play anymore after weeks of no drops made raid rough which will make more people quit because of slow progress( boss killing wisee) ontop of gearing wise

Sorry your year sucks, I try to always keep a positive attitude on things. Like when my 3 legged cat decides to sleep in my chair. I don’t move her to play. I wait until she moves to another sleeping spot. Yes I have a 3 legged cat. She shattered a femur 2 years ago when she was 1. I spent $1000 for her amputation and it was the best $1000 I’ve ever spent. She gives me joy and happiness like my other 3 cats and my dog. So no, I don’t have to come to the game to enjoy myself.
