Not sure about that one. There’s a limit with what gms did and can do. Gms don’t go around banning bots. They have a special department that handle those issues.
No but their word is better than me reporting it and then them having to send someone out to monitor them.

I don’t think those rules have ever been enforced.
They were considered serious enough for major top end guilds and groups not to risk it. Huokan even changed their rules and rebranded because of it.
I been tanking because I want to try it out and while it’s faster invite I want to just turn off my brain and DPS sometimes but no one wants a ret paladin it seems.
Then in a few groups I’m starting to understand the last topic where tanks are mad about DPS pulling frap for them… A hunter pulled the totem boss in AD and made it reset because not everyone was in. Then a few packs too, Id be lying if I didn’t say it was kind of annoying me but I was able to grab them and tank it just fine lol

I can’t tell you how sick I am of pretending to carry my friends in hopes of them not discovering they are, in fact, carrying me.

Is it still that way? I remember back in Vanilla when nobody would take a ret unless there was absolutely nothing else seeking… even a holy priest DPS.

The jist I’m getting is you need to have a high io or really geared.
Which is odd because every key I go into I blow the other DPS away by the end of the key I’m easily 20k ahead of the others.
I know I don’t bring much other then a brez now. Why I been tanking. I love tanking but at times I want to play DPS but yeah it’s been very hard getting into groups, been declined from keys I can do no problem.
It’s likely just better options. DPS dime a dozen and all that. :). It’s fine though.

It is because omg the ret burst really is freaking amazing.
Why would I or you even care for people who pay such services? or even stop playing retail because of that?
People who pay services are not world first in anything, top score on any raid or dungeon, parse or whatever form of “competitive” metric in the game that you could aim for.
I joined a guild, I play with guildies and I have fun, problem solved.

it basically removes all the roundabout avenues of trading gold for services - at which point you can do it via auction house or crafting orders, both of which you can reasonable-range price fix if you want to
Selling boosts for gold isn’t illegal so this doesn’t actually compare.
It just looks like you cannot afford to buy carries and are bitter. I have no problem with in game carry services doing it for in game money. Sorry you are poor.
Everyone keeps saying leave the services /5 channel. Like duh, I have it disabled. But you cant remove the WALL of selling spam in the group finder (LFG) window. You have to constantly report them over and over just to clear the garbage out so you can see the legit groups needing another player or tank in my case.
That also still doesnt fix the amount of players that simply dont know or at least dont do any of the mechanics. Simple stuff like killing the totems in AD at the same time. Simple stuff like soak the puddles on the boss on the other side of the dungeon. I am just pointing out AD because its like the easiest dungeon, but people still dont know the mechanics, yet have over 2500 IO… They where either hard carried or paid for their carries.
Huh??? Dafk why would I want to pay for a carry? I am a tank, I get instantly invited to every group. Please, lay off the drugs…

While this is somewhat true, they were frowned upon in the early days of WoW, when Firelands was current, i purchased 10x Pureblood Firehawks in advance from a guild for 1 million gold upfront (i moved the gold to their server in the form of a bunch of different TCG mounts), then i sold the runs on my server for 150k a pop.
Most of the people i sold them to kept it on the down-low, but this one idiot would hump the mailbox in the middle of SW trade district trying to show off, he was mocked mercilessly in trade chat for weeks and eventually left the server lol

this means nothing in higher keys. ret pallys throw up some big numbers but one of their biggest issues is the fact that they lack priority damage. you have to choose between single and cleave. i forgot who made it but they had a really good video on effective vs high damage.

It’s a tool that nonetheless can add an extra layer of vetting to allow OP to have better chances of forming better groups instead of making blanket “ban all these people” because they keep getting bads in their groups.
