Please address Frost mage

You have a sub 50% win rate in literally every bg on your mage. Im not sure your opinion here has a good foundation mister bg hero.

Honestly, I just messed around in some 2’s… Whenever I have a Brain Freeze proc, I can pretty much 70-0 someone if I get the Frostbolt off. I wouldn’t call our damage lackluster… just too hard to get casts off when pressured and huge penalty if Frost gets locked out.

Like I said in a reply succeeding the one you replied to, i’m not saying it’s good. It’s not great. Feel free to not play and to whine about how bad it is.

Don’t say, “it’s impossible to play in PvP” though, because it is in fact possible. People just can’t be bother to L2P the playstyle that differs from their expectation of how they want to play.

My Pugs are really hit or miss. If people are good at responding to the damage, we climb. If they don’t know how to deal with all the burst we tank. You can very clearly tell which players have the idea that their sole goal in Arena is to do as much damage as humanly possible without any consideration towards helping with control, the idea that you can in-fact reset, the concept of positioning, etc… There’s a lot more to it than mongo at people and hope they die. Either way, I enjoy doing arenas for the sake of doing arenas and don’t care about my rating as long as I get my 220 piece every week.

Best part is if you fake too long, you’re probably dead anyway since we’re exceptionally squishy right now. Triune is nice and all, but it’s absurd that we have to take a survivability legendary just to live, while others can live with their DPS legos just fine.

Something really needs to be done about Frost and Arcane. Frost is the worst spec in the game at the moment and Arcane isnt much better.

I suspect we will see some buffs/adjustments soon in the next few months or so, or maybe the next patch/raid at the latest.

Worth pointing out that Arcane Mages only have parses in Mythic Shriekwing and Huntsman (which Arcane Mages dominate on every difficulty), but overall Arcane Mages aren’t anywhere close to the top.

First of all Slick Ice legendary should not just be during Icy Veins, but all the time. It compensates for the long cast on Frostbolt and the damage increase. Icy Veins like Boomy Incarn or Ret Wings should not be a dispellable buff. Making these two changes alone would improve the class in all aspects tremendously. Only Frost Mage should have a 3.5 second Deep Freeze as we are the only class in the game without a stun. Mind you Shadow Priest has all of this and offhealing capabilities. We just want to be competitive like the other casters.

Yeah nice try. 34 total parses, with one fight where Arc is bottom half and one where they destroy it because it’s a burst AoE fight. https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/statistics/26#dataset=95&aggregate=amount&difficulty=4is going to be a lot more accurate

I’m testing it right now.
It doesn’t work with pet nova (understandable) or Ice Nova (which you’d think it should considering it’s a root cast by you…). Since it doesn’t work with Ice Nova, I don’t think it’d work with Glacial Spike’s root either.

It 100% works with Frost Nova, Ring of Frost, Pollymorph and Dragon’s Breath when you break them, they expire, or when they’re dispelled.

There’s a place for it! That slow’s decent if you get someone away from their healer and LoS. It pre much adds a 1 second additional root to the end of your Polly as well. Not game breakingly good, but not bad.

Thanks for testing, Ooze! Now we know for sure! I’m glad it still procs on shatters, seems like it might help our control a bit. I’m a little bummed that it doesnt work on pet nova, but I suppose that makes sense per the tooltip. I wonder if it works on Frostbite procs?
