I wanna race over Ungoro crater and over Stormwind.
Give us a new color option for our drakes for doing all races or something.
I like purple. Give us purple.
If you don’t do this then you hate Taivan.

a weekly cross-server ‘around Kalimdor’ race event on a mega-course from the Hyjal tree to the gates of Ahn’qiraj…
I’d love some dragon races in pandaria. Jade forest would be a great location.
Kind of surprised we aren’t able to use our Dragon mounts anywhere but Dragon Isles. Even if there was somehow a limitation (Even though there shouldn’t be from what I can tell). It shouldn’t stop us from flying them normally even if Dragonriding isn’t particularly enabled. Though I would LOVE the idea of races in other locations or some sort of activity at least. Hell, I’d kill for a cross-continent tour.
We really need one of those races in someplace like Blade’s Edge Mountains
dodging fel cannon fire!!!
It’s because they are being conservative about being able to pull the plug if the average user throws enough of a hissy fit about it. Hopefully the new studio they bought and tosses at WoW will be around to do the necessary animations and conversions from the old flight models to the new ones
Personally I’m hoping to see WoW start recreating the old world zones (yes again) with the new flight in mind zone by zone. I wouldn’t say no to getting a newer rendition on how absolutely massive the bones of agamaggan are
Even so… They could just allow it to function like normal flying. Shouldn’t be difficult on their end. Then again, I don’t know the inner workings. Just silly to commit one thing and not bother to make it work anywhere else.
they dont like normal flying. they stated this in interviews.
or you mean drakes fly as normal flying mounts in old world?
Regular flight is inherently over powered and literally lets you ignore the entirety that is the open world outside of specific interactions and means there is literal boring, dead space in between objectives. This is what the devs hate about old flight and why it is considered bad design. There is a reason why noclip/air walk is a literal cheat code in many games and old flight works very much just like that. Which is a massive disservice to the game as a whole. Especially at the speeds DR is going at.
The ‘use alternate full screen effects’ option removes the wind animations and white streaks in the game while (it looks like it to me) reducing the swirl that forms @ the front of the mount to just the mount. Between that and option keeping the camera steady/behind the mount helps the experience for those who get motion sickness immensely.
Starting your opinion as though it is a fact is evidence of arrogance.
I’m going to guess there are multiple reasons that implementing dragon riding in existing content will be a coding nightmare, but that would be precisely that - a guess.
They literally have it basically functioning in all the old areas sans the actual in world stuff. It’s called Soar and Evokers can use it.
Glad to assume that it is some sort of nightmare to incorporate everything DR is…
wouldn’t be surprised if many of the classic dragon/dinosaur mounts we have become dragonriding ones…
they all use the same base skeletons, so it would just be a matter of animation and some fancy graphics
(probably way more complicated than that, but all this is still doable) ![]()
hoping it comes to azeroth in a future patch
Oh… My mistake, you think that slow fall or levitate is proof high speed flying will work. I stand corrected. /sarcasm off
It’s always wonderful when someone who has no idea what they’re talking about thinks they do.
I explore the open world more with regular flying. It’s funny how it’s seen as this but not DR when it’s fast and wide turns make it less precise for exploring.
I wish people would learn what no clip actually is.
no, its literally a movement thing. Soar in its fully buffed form worked just fine in on the beta. They nerfed it because Blizz was/is afraid of giving Evokers too much of an advantage in travel times against other players in chromie time and for farming mounts/pet battles/rare kills.
But sure believe in your own mind that I am crazy for saying the core of dragon riding is stupid easy to port over.
noclip typically covers the ability to air walk and phase through boundaries. The fact that I said the old flight functions very similarly to it (and wasn’t actually it) seems to be lost on you. It’s even in the part you quoted
It’s the ability to clip through solid objects freely.
Which you can’t really do with either form of flying.
But on days where the lag is unbelievable, you might clip through your mount.
That’s a neat bit of lag right there.
But noclip also generally grants you the ability to air walk so you can clip through the ground boundary as well (hence the similarity and why I use it as an example) (Edit : this obviously doesn’t happen in games that are played on a flat plane but is in fact quite common in 3d games [like wow] that have multiple ‘levels’)
And regular flying nor DR is that. They don’t allow you to clip through the ground or solid objects. You still have to obey boundaries, including fatigue and invisible walls. Not to mention a lot of no-clip hacks allowed you to zip fast across maps. Something 310% flying does not do.
