Please add a tier ring for the scarlet enclave tier sets. Let me have my 6set/4set!
I think this late before the phase that would throw any semblance of balance they are trying to achieve completely out the window.

True. Still would be cool. And cool > balance imo.
Eh. First of all it’s not that cool as it would massively limit gear diversity. Second of all balance is going to matter when we enter maintenance mode and the freshness is lost and it becomes a matter of enjoying playing.

Era is in maintenance, mode, and is entirely unbalanced. Further, there is only one ring of each kind (caster, tank, melee, healer) in the new raid at all, and they’re… not good. Like one point of damage higher than previous rings. Really underwhelming. Being able to equip two set rings, one from naxx, one from Scarlet, would let you get two 2-piece bonuses, using only two of the eight regular set items. Freeing up 6 more pieces. You could get your Scarlet 6 piece, naxx two piece, and ANY other two piece you wanted.
That is more diversity in gear, not less. Not sure how you’re thinking that would limit it.

You would just always 100% wear both rings. Right now there is an element of choice.

Illusion of choice. At least for caster rings, they’re all pretty much the same. So yes, it would be a no brainer to wear both set rings, but that’s not a loss of choice since there are no other choices. It opens up choices in other slots.
It would just make everyone wear 6pc/4pc. He’s completely right. All non tier pieces would be a waste since everyone would just want 6/4 combo

It would actually have the opposite effect. Ring slots are almost always the same universally for everyone playing a stat type.
Tier ring frees up an actual important slot.
Classic has always had the illusion of choice, everyone is pretty much wearing the same gear and using the same runes.
No? Not really. There is still a best pair of rings and as a Hunter main I can tell you that we’re all wearing the same two.
I don’t get why you think there is a wide selection of gear to choose from at the end of SoD. We have permanent BiS lists now.
If you want gear diversity go play retail. My DK has three entirely different stat sets and something like 12 different trinkets all for PvE.
Their flawed counter-argument is about how there’s only one BIS but the reality is that when you have a wild card slot and drops are RNG, you usually end up slightly deviating from what BIS lists say to use.
The delta between your wild card being a ring or a pair of bracers is pretty tiny, probably less than a %. Meanwhile, the delta between 6-pc/4-pc and not 6-pc/4-pc would be massive. You either use exactly the best thing or you’re tangibly worse.
There’s no argument here really.
