Oh, easy 265-272 gear should peak the interest of a lot of people. That and you can earn up to 3 278-285 items of your choice just clearing LFR.
Forgot Titantforge , world quests and Arcano crystal ?? that drove instance players mad
Besides that obvious one , -You mean you started with a lvl 1 gear and made it up to max without setting foot outside your starting zone ?. … oh wait you can do that by paying 60 bucks with boosting and then queuing dungeons/bg the rest of the way , once upon time its wasn’t possible.
Have you heard of the phrase 'Raid logging " ? why it became prominent in Warlords of Draneor because there was nothing else to do , there was no reason to go outside your garrison . You can see that even in Shadowlands especially during the CN patch - Tuesday raid see you next week.
This shift happened slowly towards the end of WOTLK and just gotten pivoted towards instances further and further down the line. You have completely forgotten about it .
I say we change the name of the game from World of Warcraft to instances of warcraft
Imagine understanding this isn’t a patch. This isn’t new content. This was thrown together to get at least something for some people to do until dragonflight launches. This is what happens what an expansion gets cut short. Now again just imagine you could understand that and not come qqing made up favoritism b.s.
Except the point you guys always leave out, is that there is more for open world players to do than there ever has been. Casual rejoice this isn’t tbc anymore when raid logging really became a thing lol…
I see this sort of thing all the time but here is a serious question: What did you do before? Aside from Legion which has a lot of class quests to dig through, what is this world content you’re talking about? Was it just killing rares for a few hours? Hunting for caches? All of that doesn’t sound like a lot of content to me whatever the expansion.
Titanforged raid gear was much higher up than titanforged world quest gear. At most it might be used to fill one or two pieces of gear it was never a progression part of gearing up unless that was the ONLY content you did was world quests.
In BFA I ran the invasions a lot. You could get a chance of the gear upgrading to add leech or speed or some such thing. The stuff in ZM never changes. It’s the same old.
That isn’t good! Try to find a guild or a discord group of casuals if you need more socializing?
Maybe you don’t, but I absolutely do. I made an entire thread about it in the Community Council section explaining and offering feedback about how I’d love to see them offering a much more wide array of outdoor content for people to do and enjoy.
It’s not like solo play activities are something new to World of Warcraft.
In Legion Blizzard designed an entire endgame zone that delivered a solo experience that lasted almost the entirety of the expansion in Suramar. They would continue to add more and more chapters to the story as time went on, added fun activities like Wither training which is absolutely solo content.
Legion had a TON of solo focussed activities to do.
World quests
Emissaries
Class quests
Mount quests
Mage Tower
Broken Shore
Argus
Suramar
Wither training
Mists of Pandaria had a lot of fun solo content to do as well.
Shadowlands did have some solo content to do, most of the stuff in the entire expansion was gated behind system after system and wasn’t fun to do on alts because everything was gated behind everything else.
There’s always going to be the raiding, M+ dungeons and PVP loop, but solo play should receive attention as well.
So while you may say that the player base doesn’t want solo content, I am here telling you as a player of 16 1/2 years that I do, so you don’t speak for me.
ZM gear definitely can get tertiary stats. No corruptions or titanforging though I guess.
Not at top level. It might get the zone buff thing but that is all.
They did. You’re actively choosing to ignore it.
Man you sure clapped back bro.
For me personally S4 feels like they basically excluded people not doing premade group content.
Sure LFR got an ilvl bump, but none of the rewards.
WQ were untouched.
XP buff was, in their own words, “just to get people ready for S4” and nothing more.
I think it wouldn’t feel as bad if we were all in the same boat but they made a deliberate choice to give part of the player base new toys to play with.
How hard would it be to bump up WQ rewards?
Maybe bump Cpyher or Sandworn gear up a bit?
Update callings from 9.0? Those never got touched.
They added some really unbalanced high difficulty, high cost but low reward missions in both 9.1 and 9.2 but never did anything to balance them.
Couple new followers in Torghast to rescue? Nope.
They could have sped up Cypher gear for alts if it wasn’t getting stronger, but nothing.
Pet battles this expansion sucked and despite adding a ton of new pets with the Protoform Synthesis Forge, the acquisition is just monotonous busy work in the form of farming 1000’s of genesis motes.
So many tiny things they could have done, but instead it’s all about rebalancing 3 raids, 4 new M+ dungeons and whatever affixes they added to raids.
It feels bad when it feels like the things you do are excluded. Especially when I still have to pay the same to access the game as everyone else.
I dont understand why people were expecting more out of Season 4. Even if they bumped up ilvl of WQ – it still the same thing as before.
Again, they can say anything they want, actions speak louder than words, and until I see them actually show they really are going to change, I will have a very difficult time believing them.
But all of your changes literally dont stop this exact problem. What do all of these do put provide a small buffer? Its just the same things but with a bump in its reward. If you were bored of it in S3, its gonna be the same in S4.
Well, if I’m understanding things correctly, in Dragonflight Alpha there is a permanent XP buff coming by reducing the XP required by 56.9% during the 1-60 adventure. So it seems reasonable to introduce an XP buff for a few months prior to Dragonflight that will not feel necessarily out of sync once the expansion arrives.
The best thing players (currently dissatisfied with S4 offerings) can do is unsubscribe. Ideally it would be right before DF launches and remain unsubscribed the first quarter.
Unsubbing now and coming back like happy campers for DF wouldn’t make Blizzard change anything.
A small buffer > nothing we got right now.
