Playing Against Type

Ravasha is in many ways a typical warlock. She loves personal power, thinks she’s misunderstood by people who fear her magic, and she has a distinct lack of empathy for those she harms.

But I try to give a new twist on the standard concept by giving her a soft heart for children. She grew up in a household where her parents were very strict and demanding so she has a soft spot for kids who look scared or apprehensive. That’s not to say you’ll see her doing things for “the greater good” like saving a burning orphanage, but you will see her trying to help individual kids.

Another thing I do is have her noble family be pretty broken up such that whatever status and wealth she would have gained from them would be pretty much nonexistent. People may even laugh when she tries to invoke her (very minor) nobility. So I try to play against the type of the Sin’dorei noble too.
