I have a feeling I know what these are.
i couldve told you those wouldnt be popular shapes from the start.
dont blame the players because blizz released boring races lol
you can spend gold.
Itâs even funnier because since all armor models are fully 3d models and not mostyly 3d textures like wow⌠WAS it means that adding new races is a lot harder.
Thatâs a pretty dishonest introduction to the thread, op.
Itâs about fulfilling player wishes that are in some cases over two decades old, not about throwing unpopular niches like xl humans at players. It was foreseeable that overweight humans with unnatural height would be unpopular, just like diaper gnomes and other equally joke races.
And regarding Dracthyr, for one thing, theyâre not really a new race but simply a female Worgen reskin, they even kept the sitting animation. In theory, the race could have been made more interesting, but instead it feels slapped together, can wear next to nothing and for the visage form you only get male blood elves and female humans, instead of having all races available. So once again, it feels like a half-baked, unfinished mess.
That they then come along with rainbow-pimpled dwarves 3.0 and now Quilboar night elves 3.0 (technically 4.0) just makes it seem like theyâre having fun mocking their own players.
It would be so easy to attract players if they just gave them something that would be more than obviously well received by the majority. Instead, they keep catering to highly questionable niches.
Iâm already playing the best race, not sure why I would ever care about getting others lol.
You canât even say yours is the most popular race in the Alliance.
Thatâs the thing though.
Every Kul Tiran is taller than the world record for tallest NBA player ever.
The Kul Tiran male model is 7â9ââ. The tallest NBA player ever was 7â7â'.
And I know, WoW is a fantasy game.
But thatâs part of the problem.
Thereâs a bunch of races that are supposed to be huge and scary but now they are smaller than âregular Humansâ.
Kul Tirans make Orcs look like Goblins lol
no one did that
people wanted vrykul
people wanted drakonids
Pandaren suffer from the somewhat the same problem Kul Tirans suffer from and thatâs the âfantasyâ idea of playing a fat person and how itâs a bit ridiculous to pull off. With Pandaren though you get a bit less push back because they are fluffy and have a loose and humorous background culture somewhat where as Kul Tirans are actually meant to be taken seriously as giant obese people. Both however wouldnât be Obese/fat by definition because as heroâs/adventurers they are performing MASSIVE amounts of exercise so both races but Kul Tirans in particular really kind of break immersion as the models exist. At least thatâs what i see.
Dracthyr is a whole other ball of wax because they are supposed to be playable DragonsâŚbut they are just lizard men. So as a Gen Xer i like to compare them to Draconians from Dragonlance and if you look at what Draconians are it comes across MUCH more like a human sized race of Dragon men however the Dracthyr looks MUCH more like a race of Lizard men and lack the feel of being Dragons because they are largely too thin and the model lacks the heft to make them look like Dragons enough to get away from the Lizard men look.
If they can code Horde and Alliance together like oil/water surely they can just copypasta an Ogre into the character creation

This is persistent misinformation. While there are similarities, worgen and Dracthyr have completely different animations. Dracthyr are in fact new rigs built from the ground up. If anything, they might have started with a winged demon rig and modified it.
The pandaren and kul titans are actually pretty cool. But the Dracthyr should be fired out of a cannon into the sun.
I like being tall leave us KulâTirans alone lol
The Alliance doesnât have enough big uns like us. Horde is just way larger than the Alliance when it comes to size with Tauren, Zandalari, and even regular Trolls (taller than Night Elves). Even Belves and Forsaken are taller than Humans.
Iâm fine with the Alliance having inhumanly tall races. My problem is with the fact that they are âjust regular humansâ.
If they were like half Vrykul or something, that would be fine. But Blizzard keeps saying they are just regular Humans.
That just shrinks all the other races that were supposed to be taller than humans.
Like, Humans have always been smarter than Orcs and had greater affinity with magic. Now they are also bigger and stronger than Orcs. So whatâs the point of an Orc now? Lol
Lol, ok yeah, that is crazy. Crazy awesome, but still crazy. My assumption with kul tiran men is that they were vaguely modelled after Andre the Giant. But even he was apparently only 7â4" at his tallest.
I thought the official story with them is that they have mixed human and vrykul heritage? I mean humans are already descended from vrykul anyway. But wasnât it gilnean sailors who colonised the islands and mingled with some of the drust?
Thatâs what people speculated but according to Blizz they are just regular humans.
The Drust taught them their weird Death-Druid stuff, but thatâs about all that the Drust left in them lol
I hope they will reconsider and say that in retrospect the Kultirans are half Drust.
For real. âNo, they just happen to also be giants like the people whose land they colonised,â is far less plausible.
I donât recall much hate for Pandaren. /shrug
Another human race, but fat. Gee wonder why they arenât more popular? ![]()
Weird sorta dragon things but not really that canât transmog? How could that go wrong? ![]()
Nobody hates the Pandas. How could anyone hate a panda?
Listen, I love everything about them EXCEPT the total lack of customization options, the janky running animation on the ladies, and the 1,000-yard psycho stare on the lady KTs. Itâs creepy and I donât like it. If they go back and give them some faces that look different from one another and some eyes that donât show too much sclera and weird me outâŚI will main one.
They look really good in armor, though, and the druid forms are sick.
The Dracthyr and the Mechagnomes were rejected by those who dislike them for the same reason: They cannot benefit from mog.
The Dracthyr also have the unfortunate issue of people who donât actually want to be a dragon who chose the race because what they do want is excellent custom options on the Human Female model.
The Drac hate isnât actually Drac hateâŚitâs resentment that they gave awesome customization options that are not available on regular Humans, which is what those players wanted to be in the first place.
