In the course of taking my time I acquired 27 souls which is a 27% increase to all stats. Everyone should get that I believe.
I cursed the boss to reduce its damage and maintained that. (long time on that curse) I had 3 health funnel enhancements. Increases healing by 10% and reduces damage to the pet by 10% for 10 seconds ( So 30% and 30% )
I was running demonology and tried both the primary tank pets we can use. I was talented for defensive gameplay instead of burning rush.
I had healing pots, rock locks, and used drain life where I could. I used teleport circle. I tried using the gate for quickly moving out of the massive ground and gas attack the boss created. That ticks for about 5% of health every second. The boss uses a grappling attack and pulls you right to his feet. The ground dot also completely slows your movement down. Even as a night fae with the vulpin teleport it takes a long time combat wise just to get out.
The imp implosion had 100% crit. Somewhere around 80 to 90 seconds into the fight he becomes completely immune to all CC and interrupts and at that point his damage is incapable of being held off. On top of that, the same stacks that give him those benefits also increase the speed the boss can move. So he has no trouble getting to you, or pulling you to him from anywhere in the room.
The only defensive power I didn’t take was unending resolve having a 1000% timer. ( it sounds like a lot. But it isn’t a very long ability normally. ) It also does not provide much defense.
I also had 3 of the 'facing a boss or elite gives you an orb you can grab to heal for 25% of your health each, or the end boss you get 3. The last part does not stack. So just 3 for 75% health. I used every one. I used my lock rocks, and potion.
The boss goes immune to damage and stays immune I want to say for about 10 seconds. That happens fairly frequently. In the time it took to die the last time. It happened 16 times because he was up to that many stacks of power. He gets one every time that shield goes up. It can’t be interrupted even with a fear.
I still have not been able to get the 1250 soul ash I need. Which means I am helplessly behind the curve compared to anyone else gearing for raiding or mythics. This week is the first week I could get the best affliction memory in the layer 3 coldheart interstitia and I can’t even accomplish layer 2 of the regular side.

Lock interupts… mortal coil, fear, aoe stun, stun from infernal landing. Curse of tongues to slow the casting. I’m not sure what anima powers you guys get bc my lock is lvl 54. But I will probably start with fel hunter at start of fight for first interupt then 1.5 second cast the void Walker then go Mc then infernal.
The start of the fight isn’t the problem. I used mortal coil. I used fear. I used aoe stun.
I have attempted across all of these weeks the 3 different specs. If the tank pet dies, you have all of the hatred. Only in demonology was I able to get the boss to look back at it once. And then the pet died in 4 seconds. I died 3 seconds after that.
If his shield is up, the pet can’t do anything. Can’t be stunned. Can’t be feared. Mortal coil will not heal you either because you didn’t fear it. Completely immune as soon as it hits 10 stacks.
Oh and I had instant summons.
It literally becomes ‘spend all the time trying to heal the pet, then heal yourself. Or let your pet die, and he gets in your face and walks over your dead body’.
I wouldn’t mind some achievements or a title for solo 8 layers, similar to Mad World/Faceless One for the solo Visions.
Loot though should be earnable in a group if they ever put any in there. The best loot should always come from group activities, it’s an MMO.
Only thing that make a solo torghast kind of hard if the rng on the powers
My reward is just doing it. I enjoy the dungeon delve at my own pace gameplay. Dont need more stuff.
Plus more rewards would just be punishing and disheartening to classes and builds that can’t solo it.
Isn’t there like a sweet anima power for the void walker?? Also can the fel hunter remove stacks from boss? I’m gonna have to lvl my lock and see for myself bc right now on my Paladin I’m still waiting for a challenge
Soloing it on many classes is a complete joke, however it needs to award something other than legendary juice twice a week. Give me an excuse to run it more than twice.
It’s easier to solo than duo it in my experience, at least on Havoc and WW.
it was advertised as soloable content why should you get an extra reward for that?
How much easier would you say? I did absolutely fine when me and a buddy 2 manned it the first week It’s just not very fun to do on my rogue, it was a bit easier on a few of my alts however.
I get a lot of satisfaction just for completing Torghast wings solo. The Soul Ash is great and all, but I mainly enjoy the challenge (I totally leave and restart if I see The Maw of the Maw as my boss when I reach floor 3, though).
it scales to the number of people doing it, it’s actually easier doing it solo. have you done it with more than 3 people? it’s ridiculous.
I’m not good and I can solo them so idk.
It takes patience and RNG. While some skill is required it’s more about factors that aren’t in their control.
I mean. I think Torghast’s rewards should be expanded upon in general. It was advertised as seamless scaling content meant to encourage both solo, and group play. Rather than just reward solo people, they should bring in more difficult layers and attach challenge mode like rewards, which we might see later in this expansion. I don’t think people solo’ing it needs to be rewarded so much as people who take an extra challenge with or without friends should be rewarded with time sensitive goodies.
Get the right drop options, bring food, pots, and patience.
I’ve cleared each wing solo with little to 0 issues, also it’s important to wait on timers before every big pull. This isn’t meant to be instant rewards, like Andy Dufrane once said, just takes time and patience.
