Player Housing

Giggling and kicking my feet imagining all the unhinged drama that’d arise from having shared neighborhoods on RP servers.

I would be down with shared neighborhoods if Blizz would give all of us an emote to do the Thriller dance during our block parties.

I imagine it will be a different experience if we get to choose to live with neighbors or are forced to.

That would just be the forums, I think.

But in-game.

I am coming to your neighborhood, like it or not.

I think we’ll all get on fine as long as no one asks about why my new high-powered telescope isn’t pointing upwards.

I will head the neighborhood watch. And with it, take into my hands the responsibility–nay, the duty of clocking people with a flashlight in the dead of night.

No need to thank me. It is an honor to serve.

They might! I think I am pretty good with them. Shockingly, I think I am exalted with The Hydraxian Waterlords, no idea how that happened. Maybe I can get a discount on waterfront property. lol

I for one hate the neighborhood thing in Final Fantasy, and think it would be so out of place in WoW.

Hopefully its instanced shared spaces like in ESO, akin to the farm in Half Hill.

A holy priest and a shadow priest glaring at each other across the road.

The holy priest is mad because the shadow priest’s house is made of eyes and tentacles that the holy priest insists keep making lewd gestures towards them and winking every time they go out to collect the mail.

The shadow priest is mad because the holy priest’s house is made from glowing crystals and they’re convinced the holy priest has angled those crystals just right to peek through the curtains and shine directly into the shadow priest’s eyes while they’re trying to sleep.

Their immediate neighbours, the Demon Hunter and the Death Knight, nod knowingly to each other, mouthing ‘suffer well’ to one another because they know what’s going to dominate the HoA meeting next week.

Please give us doorbells.

I want a custom doorbell that rings the song “Low Rider”.

Make sure you all check under your houses. Lots of shadowy things could be lurking in the caverns that your HOA neglected to tell you about.

There’s a door knock feature in Conan Exiles.

Go give this a read and sign it if you wish. If you do sign it, be clear about who you are, what you do, how long you’ve been in WoW and add anything else you want to add to it.

I am finding myself joining the “we really need to be able to build whatever we want” crowd.

Had a few hours to play today so I rolled up a Highmountain Mistweaver. Found myself at the Peak of Serenity training with Master Hight. I forgot how beautiful and wonderfully snowy it was up there.

Was going with the flow and found myself questing MoP. Logged out at the inn at Honeydew Village and I want to be able to put one of those cubbyhole beds with the steps leading up to it and the bookshelves in a cave or covered wagon or any dang place I want.

Cheers.

Blizz has access to a million and one assets to give us, all the things.

I’ve said before, saying again, I’m not a technical guy. I know a few people on WRA are, so perhaps they are better suited to addressing this.

The trouble with Blizz giving me “house styles” is that they are going to choose them for me. I know enough to know, I’m not going to be happy about that. I don’t like restrictions in my building games. I want a vacant lot. If all I want to create is 1 wall, no floor and no roof and a bonfire, let me create it. Looking at ESO housing (as some in this thread have suggested), it seems to offer quite a lot of flexibility.

I just…

We are finally getting player housing; a feature that was literally CODED INTO OG WOW and just never given to us.

If people want homes to choose from, because they are less…creative or simply less inclined to care, that’s great. Offer that option AND the ability to create the home itself - right down to the floors, walls, roof, steps, windows, everything.

The idea that after 20 years I’ll get what I want only to have it be…not what I want? That is a bridge that I may not be able to cross back over. I may be a level of disappointed that I can’t come back from and I genuinely love this game. I don’t want to leave, but that might do it.

Epsilon already had these kinds of features. Im sure Blizz can adapt FAN MADE stuff and make it better…
