One could purchase a 2 bedroom home and make the spare bedroom a library. For the game? No thanks.
This would be cool for the Warband. An updated garrison kind of thing maybe? 
Since Warband is new, Maybe we could see some stuff with content patches.

So…
If Blizzard updated Garrisons, allowed more decoration and building style options, plus added a “Museum” and a “Personal” building then it could be housing?
- Building styles should be racial.
- The ability to place chosen decorations in spots around the garrison would help personalize them.
- The museum, we have part of in the townhall that shows off Archeaology finds. They just need to show off tier/pvp sets and artifacts to up the dopamine factor.
- The personal building should be where you can furnish and decorate in freeform.
We are getting a .5 Patch that is an entire event which lasts 2 months, come on blizz! GIVE US A HOME!

Yes, please, I need player housing.
I really want housing, but if we can’t get that, I’d love to be able to have a caravan you can go in. It should be customizable both outside and inside, with multiple options for what’s pulling it.

I mean I don’t want to squash your cupcake but devs have said on many occasions that it’s something they want to do and something they’re pretty much always thinking about that will take time to get implemented correctly.
Garrisons had many problems that were unique to how they were implemented, in ways that would not be applicable to actual housing.
Better to scrap that entirely and start fresh.

So let’s actually be serious for a moment on this.
It’s been 20 years, we have all kinds of assets in game that qualify as housing, furniture and aesthetics. We already have a similar system in place in the way of Garrisons.
I am not talking about the Garrisons themselves, because those weren’t housing. I’m talking about the way the plots worked. We could place a building on those plots.
Why can’t Bliz use this as a basis for WoW housing? Reuse old buildings of the past- invent new buildings. Let us place furniture in those buildings.
One of those plots could contain a “garden”.
One of those plots could contain a gabzebo, etc, etc, etc.
Dump anything that didn’t work out so hot with the Garrisons (I do not need my own personal AH, for example). I do not need a mineshaft. Give me a reason to leave my house.
Let us place furniture, etc anywhere on the property we want.
I loved Wildstar housing but maybe they don’t have the tech for it or something.
