Player Housing Is Coming!

Agreed. I don’t think Blizzard is capable of making anything like that. Perhaps Im a pessimist but it could be the game itself just isn’t up to the sort of cosmetic interaction required. Wildstar did, indeed, set a high bar.

If Blizzard can get close to how Palia housing is I’d be happy…I mean Palia was designed by 3 former Blizzard workers…

Oh.

Abit late.

Your response here is literally why I’m concerned as to how they ever even could “pull off” player housing in WoW. Because what you are saying is demonstrably and categorically false, but it is a mantra repeated over and over again. Which is what I pointed out in my first comment right here:

How are they ever going to make something “correct” if people like yourself can’t even acknowledge what has been tried in the past? What’s next, it didn’t let us customize our houses to the degree of what you can do it Palia does it? People bring up Wildstar, SWTOR, and ESO all the time - is it not going to ‘count’ as player housing unless it is done the exact way it is done in other games?

Be reasonable and temper your expectations to what’s reasonable in WoW. If it surpasses that, great! If it doesn’t but is still good for WoW, great! But do note that you, or others, disliking something doesn’t magically change something to not be something it is.

All of this is why I still have reservations for the system until I get to see how it works in-game. Excited for it, but I want to see it before I lose my head over something which may just be a new type of an inn, or something as game changing as garrisons were.

Hopefully that Home Sweet Home mug will be a transmog.

Oh, please.

Housing is a staple in modern MMOs, it is a collectible end game like transmogs and mounts. Would any of you say there is no point in mount collecting because its just aesthetics? I mean you can have the KSM mount and it flies just as fast as the 5-poly stormwind gryphon from TBC. Those interested in collecting and decorating will enjoy the feature just as much as they enjoy collecting and displaying transmog.

On the issue of “afk simulator”: I’m sorry what do you think people are doing standing in Dornogal right now? Listening to the earthen sigh? The bruto mount trivialized even having to be in town to use the AH.

Player housing will just be a cosmetic. People will collect junk from other forms of content and display in their house for their friends and guilmates to envy, just like mounts, mogs, achievments and titles. These forums could use less doom and gloom, jeez.

Hell yeah!!

I just want a house for all my friends on moonguard to have their parties!

I want to be hype for this but honestly, after the garrison, I’m scared that we’ll end up with 1 human and orc house and leave the rest of the races thrown away once again.

If they don’t put options for each race this will be a failure equal to/or worse than the garrison, this is not Warcraft: Orcs and Humans.

I am hopeful they won’t tie anything to this other than some decorations and I can opt out.

I suspect this is going to be the case. There will be some “basic things” you get through quests but if you want “premium stuff” – you will buy it through the FOMO shop or tons of gold that people will purchase tokens.

It seems that I am in the minority here (and that is ok) but I don’t see anything advantage to player housing or what it could possibly give you? Maybe I am just not seeing what the attraction is to it.

Well that’s nice to hear I have several homes in Swtor. I enjoy decorating them.this will be fun.

I’ve heard SWTOR does great player housing but don’t really know much about it. Got any juicy details?

Delves are, TODAY, the most played activity.

Would be a really good way to make legacy content relevant again, imagine if each boss dropped furniture based on their portion of the raid/dungeon?

Have it be in it’s own separate loot pool so it doesn’t disrupt mog runs.

Wait until some of the best trophies and housing cosmetics only drop from raid bosses. Just like dragon manuscripts in DF.

I love my garrison.
To have my own base of operations was awesome, the problem with the system was that they butched WoD until there was nothing left, because that was a good expansion even with all the cuts, still today I dont understand how they messed up so bad with it.
Granted if I could make my house inside my garrison or a new garrison, that would be awesome.

Ok – I guess that could be a thing but what does “player housing” give you?
What purpose does it serve?
That is the part I don’t understand.

People should also keep in mind that a fully unlocked warband bank is ~3 million gold. Keep the perspective this gives you when you imagine what housing will cost.

It has the potential to be one of the biggest token sellers and gold sinks they’ve ever designed. Don’t expect them to miss that opportunity.

I doubt it will be required for player power but I’d imagine you’ll be able to sell some carries to the collector crowd when they learn they need to clear the heroic raid or get KSM for that cosmetic they can’t live without.

What is the advange of anything in a video game ?

Are the items you recieve tangible? Can you use your weapons and spells in real world
Is the game currency able to but actual food for your home?

No to both of those and other things.

The game is a place we go to have fun , releave stress and escape the everyday real world bs.

Like everything else player housing is just another way for people to have a different kind of fun in game .

Just becaue it might not be fun for you would you not want others to have their own forms of fun ?

Or are you one of those that think Blizz should focus on what you and others with your opinion on what you think is fun and only stick with that?

Just some things to ponder .
