Because they’re the closest I can get to a Dark Elf / Drow / Dunmer in the Warcraft universe.
I never played Wildstar, but I often hear people say it had the best housing.
I for once would love to have my sub fee just pay for a plot of land so I don’t have to farm in game garbage to keep it
The housing was amazing. The game itself was ahead of its time in alot of aspects. It also had some serious issues. It’s housing though. If I could bring in one system from WS to WoW it would be the housing system.
We’ve had them since Burning Crusade ![]()

Iv heard you gota pay rent for your house ? Even better reason for me not to go in there
Moves in with one of the devs “Hi, I live here now…”
I am not sure what ahead of it’s time means in this contest. The game flopped because of two things. Bad management and a total disinterest in giving it legs to stand on. The mismanagement came when they started listening to elitists and the game left new and casual players way behind. Which resulted in a major exodus, leaving the game almost empty. And instead of trying to win back the fanbase, they tried a cheap method, with the free-to-play formula which didn’t really fix anything since the above mentioned issue that concerned new and casual players still existed, it failed to accumulate the numbers they had and so they gutted it. Bad management.
But yeah, the housing system was fun.
Yeah, you pretty much nailed it with the issues I was talking about. The main crux of which is exactly what you said, bad management. What I meant by “ahead of its time” was referring to some of the more difficult pve/raid mechanics. Stuff that’s common place in WoW now, but WS was doing back in 2014.
I never got too far in that game. And I wanted to, the guys and gals I played with, my WoW guild, we wanted to try the PVP system that had each side coming with a sort of battleground of their own, that they could customize by adding weapons and obstacles. But it was hard. The guys that stuck with it ended up quitting eventually because there were no opponents who unlocked that kind of PVP to play against.
Anyway, at least they provided a fine example of how not to manage an MMO. Regardless, they got a lot of stuff right and housing was one of them. Blizzard should keep that in mind, I think.
Sounds like the Sims, what do we need with housing?
Warplots, basically player housing but as PVP battlegrounds. I got to play a few of them. They were fun but hard to organize. But yeah, I played ALOT of Wildstar both PVE and PVP. It really was an amazing game in spite of the flaws. I really miss it.
Though I do at least want us to have an exterior. SWTOR does with a few houses, though they have a transparently greedy tendency to make their houses RIDICULOUSLY huge and sell tiny furniture packs for an absurd amount of money.
I just want a garden, or something. Maybe in the future something like a mansion with guest houses, even a village. But I suspect it’s going to be a small interior location at first.
Good news we actually have proof of exterior and interiors, among other options:
Dunno what the outside would look like, but there apparently is one.
Oh, that’s awesome! Thanks for sharing ![]()

Alike to the one from the EverQuest game, but new and much better in every aspect.
Players cannot ignore that EverQuest (EQ) while it was owned by Sony Online Entertaiment was the #1MMO Game on its peak. WoW came and EQ died by many negative reasons. WoW became on its peak the #1MMO as well.
