Frankly, I think they will do what FFXIV did. A neighborhood will have big, medium, and small houses.
They should release it all at once. If they release small houses first and bigger ones later, those players that want a larger place will try to upgrade and leave behind empty small houses resulting in “holes” in the neighborhood.
First, I have been considering that because I heard it and understood it to mean that they did not have a way to implement it at that time.
Second, given how relatively recent that interview was, it’s clear that they figured out how to work it in pretty quickly after that timeframe OR they were already trying to work it out and Ion simply couldn’t be specific at that time. It wouldn’t shock me to find out that the whole $90 mount thing was done to counteract the cost of its development…or something akin to it. Whether it means one less raid tier in Midnight remains to be seen.
Third, there has been no commentary about delves costing us a raid tier in TWW that I’m aware of. There was no commentary about the new profession system costing us a raid tier in Dragonflight.
Fourth, we have gone from expansions that give us 3 big raids and two smaller ones (total of five raids) to expansions that give us only the three big raids. Perhaps that is what we’re seeing as a consequence of The Worldsoul Trilogy and all of its innovations.
Maybe the reason we went from five raids in BfA to only 3 in Shadowlands was the development of dragon riding and the new professions for Dragonflight.
Maybe the reason we had only 3 raids in Dragonflight was the work they did to develop delves.
Maybe the reason we’ll have 3 raids in TWW was to accommodate the work they’re doing on player housing and the car races.
It’s not like they’ll ever tell us, and if the content release schedule is satisfying to the majority of players and keeps the subscription numbers steady for the next five years…then I don’t think it matters.
but how will we know? It’s not like they will develop one and put it on the calendar and then remove it. Player housing has already been done, so if there would have been another raid in Midnight, we won’t ever be told about it and it will not ever be announced or named because…it will never have even been developed.
The only reason we even discuss it is because Ion mentioned it to Hazelnutty a few years ago.
Did we lose a raid tier for dragon riding? for new professions? For delves? For the new car racing? For player housing?
Let’s not forget that they’ve spent the past 5-6 years largely earning these complaints. There isn’t some biased, unfair conspiracy against the small indie company.
Shadowlands, I agree but with DF and TWW, I just keep getting good stuff. WoD wasn’t great content wise, story I kinda enjoyed it. BFA was a mix bag. But overall, I don’t think the game is terrible enough to just straight up think everything is going to be bad automatically.
Yea that’s not how this works. It’s a video game, there is no reason why I shouldn’t be allowed to have what I want in a video game. It doesn’t effect you negatively at all whether I get what I wanted.
But hey way to be an example as to why the WoW community is awful. I am sure you’re planning to be one of the psychotic HOA Rpers.
Yeah. That’s the difference I guess between “they’re gonna screw this up” versus “I’m not optimistic given their track record but I’ll still wait and see.”
