Played the game 16 years and this is the response

Blizzard says I have to make posts about posts and I have their security token to secure my account, but they want me to have SMS I guess.

I have been playing Wow since 2004 ruffly. I used to post regularly on the forums, but have not for many years now. I am a community leader and officer in my guild. The new regulations on your forums do not allow me to post hyper links. Could you please enable this for me?

Rotonina
Hey there,

Specialist Game Master Rotonina here and First, I want to thank you for your patience here! Recently the number of tickets has gone up substantially and we appreciate your patience while we got this looked into. : )

Reading over the issue that brings you here today and I am so sorry to hear about the issues that bring you hear today. I am happy to check into this! : )

Looking over all the information here I am sorry to say that as of right now there is no official or insider information about the exact details of how the trust levels for what can and cannot be posted works for the forums. No known information about the exact details.

Below is a link to a user created guide that goes over this with as much details as are possible.

For WoW, please note that the trust level is character specific.

However, the Developers are always open to change. If you want to see this changed, please let us know! Tweet your support to @Warcraft or use the link below. Let us know what you want to see for the future.

If this takes care of your issue today, please be sure to mark the ticket “Resolved” If you need anything else please feel free to reach back out. – Take Care and May the wind be ever at your back and the sun always shinning upon your face.

That is the problem, but I appreciate your response. My character Moldydots-Madoran (Originally Parsalyn-Staghelm) is an originally rolled toon from classic and often created posts and read them. It should be very easily over tier 3 by now. I can also not post links with that one. I hope you can appreciate my longevity of the game and problem solve this to fast track me. I am simply wanting to share a discord server template with the community. Thank you for your time.

Sniekia

Waves Specialist Game Master Sniekia here to help. I hope your day is going well. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us today.

I understand that you were wanting to have the ability to post links on the forums.

Unfortunately, customer support does not have the ability to change Trust Level. Nor do we have information on how to increase the forums trust level.

I would advise to continue posting to build up the trust level.

Thanks for reaching out today Gary. Despite the situation at hand, I hope my message has reached you in good health and spirits. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us down the road should any other problems crop up and we will do our best to get you sorted.

Take care and have a great day.

On a side note, before I go - Looking over your account, I noticed that you don’t have SMS protect on your account. To keep your account safe, learn more about security here:

It’s all just so fking ridiculous isn’t it. It’s not even plausible deniability it’s just straight up stonewalling

Probably just lose trust for that but hey… who knows how it works right!?

Sticky thread.
Right at the top of the forums.

Tells you how to get TL 3, and how to post links if you don’t have TL3.

It’s based on your forum profile character so even if you change names ingame you have to start over.

You don’t have to have that, it was just a reminder that you don’t, and that you might wish to get one.

It’s for the safety of your account, for your protection. It’s not however mandatory or required.

The trust levels are a laugh. Totally nutsy.

And even if you Finally get high enough to post links, you can be flagged by players who just don’t agree with you to the extend you lose that trust level. So meh. Yes you can request a review but gah what a mess.

I generally ignore trust levels anyway.

I surprised OP wasn’t in closed Alpha secret special testing group for vanilla wow.

The guide is also fairly unhelpful. It breaks trust into levels but it doesn’t explain how that correlates to the trust level shown in the account summary. I’m certain I meet the requirements for TL3 but my summary only shows ‘regular’, whatever that means.

Uh, why would someone put in a ticket for a meaningless level on the forums? Not only that, there is a sticky that talks about trust levels as well as various posts one could easily search through.

“Regular” is Trust Level 3.

EDIT: These are the standard Discourse forum trust levels. Blizzard uses their own version of Discourse forums so while the level titles might be the same, the benefits are probably different, and I don’t think there’s a level 4 or 5 - but I could be wrong.

EDIT2: Discourse forums. Not Discord.

This is how the forums work now. Why would you bug GMs about it? it’s not that big of a deal.

Just use ` before and after a post to make it easy to copy and paste it, at least until you do reach TL3.

That way this:

becomes this:

https://www.mmo-champion.com/content/

And once you get that trusty level 3 you can do it like this:

I made a ticket a while back for not getting credit for world quests I completed in Mechagon, and the response was that I should check Wowhead.

What a joke.

I put at the end of my tickets to not direct me to wowhead. I want nothing to do with that shoddy website.

My issue is more that they deflected a technical support issue by implying I didn’t know how the quest works.

Reads a lot like you tried to Karen CS.

Maybe you aren’t as important as you think?

Blizzard CS has been rather unhelpful over the last couple years… endless strings of copy paste responses that tell us nothing… randomly locking tickets after posting such a response acting like they did a good job… providing answers to questions that were not even asked while ignoring the actual question… these are all things that have happened to the last dozen or so tickets I’ve submitted… a few of which have never even received an answer at all with several months having passed since they were submitted…

Also, a lot of “we don’t have access to that information” or “we don’t have the power to fix this problem” responses too… It’s one thing when someone is demanding they change something in game (since CS is not part of the dev team)… but when an account issue pops up and CS tells you they can’t help… Why? Why are we directed to contact CS for all account related problems if they can’t even help with most of them?

Because Blizzard support has nothing to do with forum trust levels?

Nope. Pointing out the arrogance of the OP and the fact CS has nothing to do with trust levels.

This in and of itself creates it’s own problems… because there is no way to contact anyone who can assist with problems concerning the trust level system…
