Rolled an undead mage. Shot four fireballs at a wolf and ran out of mana. Wolf was still alive so I had to smack it with my staff till it died.
Vanilla is just as mediocre as I remembered.

still better then retail
Nope

I killed a level 6 wolf at level 1 and only ran out of mana on my warlock for like 3 seconds. I’d imagine level appropriate stuff would die before mana was an issue.
BfA could be 10 times worse and it’d be better than classic.
I had a stress test invite, but had work so was unable to participate. I’m saddened by this.
At any rate, I know Classic is bringing back a lot of my friends/family who want to play. So regardless of its mediocrity, I’ll have people to play with again.
Seems like a win/win for me. I can’t say the same for current retail, sadly. Been playing primarily solo for quite some time.
You know it’s good when even the first 5 levels feel like they matter more than retail’s first 60.
I believe the server is still open until like 6 tonight or something. The official stress test period was only 2 hours but access is like 26 hours from the start.
Nice. I may have to give this a whirl. Thank you for the information.
That’s what I enjoyed.
You’re low level; you’re a nothing early on.
Much better than seeing everyone log, pop the same heirloom gear as the people next to them, and hit level 10 within 15 minutes.
I mean I play games to have fun, not to have a tedious slog of drinking and eating between every single fight.
Took me an hour to get 5 levels this morning - if you mean one hour is better than spending 5 hours yes it is better. Do they matter more nope not at all.
5 /60 means you are only 12% to max level - 60/120 means you are half way to max level.
Not sure how 5 levels can matter more to you but I doubt they would to many people.
Classic forum is that way ------>
Others consider it a role-playing aspect to the game, myself included.
I feel so much more immersed in the world doing this in contrast to popping group finder BG’s and Dungeons and sitting idle in Boralus.
I tried it as well. There were lots of people in Northshire. Not sure if everyone had this but there were Hoggers everywhere. I made a Dwarf and got swarmed by 3 Hoggers hanging out right where you spawn. Had to leave him as a ghost.
I tried to find some kobolds and/or wolves to kill and there were so many people and no mobs, which kind of explains why everyone was mostly hanging around in a mob chanting for the GMs to spawn bosses or to somehow pay homage to Asmon or a guy called Omar.
There were more characters with Yeet in their name than in actual classic, I’d wager.
Theres like a dozen threads shilling classic in this forum at any time, I think it can handle one thats critical of it.
It’s because retail’s leveling is so easy that there’s no challenge, and with heirlooms there’s no growth.
When I say it matters more, I don’t mean progress. I mean gameplay.
Theres no challenge in classic leveling either. Lets not pretend tedium is the same as difficulty. I leveled several characters to 60 in vanilla and I sucked at the game back then.
Classic has its own forum for a reason. Don’t really care if it’s positive or negative.
