I don’t care much about races, but I’d like to see a Necro class
Here are a couple more art concepts for the Kyrian/Forsworn. Really like the hairstyles and scars on the face.
No they don’t. Some are creations of the very magic of the realm. Others are souls who specifically chose to be part of the working machine that is the realm of death. Each and every Shadowlands being has an important role within the realm and taking that away so they can go to the realm of the living not only doesn’t make sense, but it would also kill the Shadowlands, robbing them of anima, souls and important working parts of the machine.
Blizzard already stated they hated neutral races and wouldn’t do it again. And again, it makes no sense.
You put a lot of effort into those concepts, only for them to be wasted.
Yes, every Shadowlands being has a role to an extent, but who’s to say that role can’t change or involve something more? If some (not all) are commanded by their leaders to help protect the realm on the outside, that’s not abandoning their duties. If the covenants choose to do nothing different and presume with their old ways, there’s a pretty good possibility that problems will arise and threaten the Shadowlands again, just as they have in the past. The realm is constantly taking in more souls; sending some outside of the realm will likely not make a difference with the continuous supply coming in.
One person stated they weren’t a fan of the neutral race, years ago. That’s not the company as a whole, and who’s to say minds can’t be changed? Ion has said in the past many things wouldn’t happen, and then they did.
What is considered “wasted” is entirely subjective.
Because things changing there is what screwed up the Shadowlands. They aren’t mortal beings. We don’t belong there and they don’t belong here.
You need to understand how the realm of death works if you actually believe this.
Oh boy… now we’re going to make things up. Okay then. Have fun and happy New year.
All right. You’ve convinced me.
Yes, things changed there and threw the system out of whack. Some of the factors that lead to that came from our realm outside of the Shadowlands. Yet even if we focus solely on the change within the Shadowlands itself, the covenants will still have to change to combat the original change/malfunction…whatever you want to call it.
What we know of the realm of death in the World of Warcarft is only what Blizzard reveals to us. We cannot make definite statements about what can and cannot happen when those boundaries have not yet been stated. If they have, then please provide the evidence.
None of my statements are definite proclamations of what can and will happen; I’m specifically wording them as theoretical and speculative. It’s all just possibility at this time.
Plus, it’s not like the Shadow lands itself cannot make more of the most essential races running it, it DOES replace them when they die:
‘If a “workforce” creature like a dredger or steward dies, another member of the same race will eventually manifest to take the place of the one that was killed.’-Shadowlands interview, Blizzcon 2019 with Danuser.
We also know that the Shadowlands are infinite and receive souls from ALL realities aside from our own dimension in the Great Dark Beyond and timeline:
The Shadowlands transcend all worlds and realities, as evidenced with [Soulbinder Nyami] and the loa being able to use their power on [alternate Draenor] All alternate versions of the same mortal are more or less part of the same being, such as in the case with [Draka], using an analogy of a rope with different threads which can be pulled off, but which “at some time come together to make that rope” and eventually come together as one being in the Shadowlands.-Danuser interview 2020
However, there could be infinite afterlives, some small and tailored to a single person while others are vast and full of either splendor or torment. All interpretations of the afterlife held by mortal cultures are possible somewhere within the Shadowlands.[[9]] All of the realms of Death were created from the [First Ones]’ realm of [Zereth Mortis], tucked away in the fabric of the Shadowlands itself. Because souls are constantly crossing over from the mortal plane, new afterlives are manifested by Zereth Mortis’ [Forge of Afterlives] to meet the needs of the Shadowlands.-Shadowlands: Afterlives preview.
There are in essence usually near infinite souls pouring through to the Shadowlands from all known dimensions and timelines… when the Shadowlands are functioning as they’re supposed to it isn’t at all difficult for the Shadowlands to just make more inhabitants from either the near limitless souls it pulls in for the likes of Kyrian/Ven’thyr or just manifest new ones for the Fae.
I came across these fan made customization options for Sylvar.
The first one includes Fur, hairstyle, tail, color, and body marking possibilities.
This next one pulls in the possibility of having some Drust corruption. The idea is pretty neat and could amount to some cool options.
Lovely, lots of DARK and UGLY death. Really? How do you get 3 or more comments in a row?
I would really dislike this as I believe any playable races should be races that reside on Azeroth, Draenor, or Outland. Mostly Azeroth though. Also I just dislike most of the art for these new races.
It’s pretty simple. If people want to talk about it they’ll leave a comment. Like yours for instance.
The covenant races have a problem that makes it very difficult for them to be playable. Aside from the Dreadlords and Kyrian when they are sent to retrieve a soul. None of the races we encounter in the Shadowlands can actually leave the shadowlands. Because well they’re dead.
Well there have been instances where Necrolords have ventured outside as well. I don’t think it’s been stated anywhere that the races from the Shadowlands can’t leave the realm.
For the most, going to the shadowlands is a one way trip. The only reason we can leave is our ties to Azeroth. The rest of the npcs we encounter, they’re all dead.
Because Ysera was resurrected in Ardenweld she is forever bound to that realm.
Not necessarily all of them, the Fae and Ven’thyr that are not converts can be considered their weird dimensional equivalent of “alive”.
They may even be more organic than the covenant leaders themselves, seeing as they pop up out of the zones rather than being manufactured from Zereth Mortis:
Visions of the Dreamer on completion has Dreamweaver state: “We all start somewhere. Sometimes in unexpected places. Me, I just popped out of the ground like a flower.”
Or in Denathrius’ case are molded from the local anima using some of his to shape them.
Then how come we can go into the shadowlands with our living bodies and stay there as long as we want? Oh yeh because blizz change the rules and rewrite the lore all the time. A big incident can happen to allow them to choose to leave the SL just like an incident happened that allowed us the living to cross over into the SL. They could easily write in some lore that allows them to leave the SL the same way they altered the lore to allow us the living to go into the SL. They’ve already changed the lore with the Kyrian as they can now retain their memories. Blizz has altered lore so many times and nobody cared.
