Doing “the right thing” is doing what is good for the game overall, and not just the 5 people who want this.

Out of curiosity, given how almost no one plays them, how was adding, ‘Earthen,’ as a playable race good for the game overall, exactly?

To be clear, I’m not saying every new race needs to popular to be, ‘good,’ for the game. But the Earthen weren’t exactly bringing much of anything to the table. We already had two flavors of dwarves, and Mechagnomes already had the robotic-cultural aspect going.

About the only thing Earthen gave to the game was a means for Horde players to play a kind of Dwarf while still being Horde, and it wasn’t even the sort most wanted (most Horde players I’ve seen wanted Dark Irons).

Now, maybe we just have a different opinion on what is, ‘good for the game,’ but I would imagine any addition that creates incentive for customers to play would be, ‘good for the game.’ Any addition that gets largely ignored by the players, conversely, would be a waste of time and resources.

So long as even one player really likes the Earthen I don’t consider them to be a waste, but at the same time I cannot deny that they didn’t seem like the best possible addition to the game.

Nothing as long as u have a skinny body my amani mog on my shaman is cutrently using a orc model and it looks more amani then the darkspear

Amani - maybe, they’re getting a model revamp in Midnight. Might just be visuals as enemies, but some hopium.

Ethereals probably not. They’re too different and would probably need new animations.

We’re doing more loa stuff and cosmetic stuff is pumping from the art team, what about the loa masks? Such as something native like a Dragonhawk or Lynx? :dragon_face:

edit: completely forgot, we could get a purple scarf. :scarf:

They were a bad idea. So were the Dracthyr. These were not the sorts of dragons we were asking for. We would’ve been just fine with the races we had and just adding some new classes. They could have added Evoker, tinker, and bard to eight or nine races on both sides and we would’ve been just fine.

It takes considerably more resources to add new classes to the game, than to add new races. Even then, the damage can be monumental if the new classes aren’t balanced properly. New classes are either underwhelming, or way too OP, and never where they need to be compared to existing classes.

Remember when we helped the nerubians overthrow their corrupt queen and they became an allied race? Remember How we helped those ghost night elves in Asuna and now those are an allied race? How about the Arakkoa in WoD? the Tuskaar? The Taunka?

And we could’ve very well left out Evoker and not even bothered with the other two. Then in midnight, they could’ve announced new classes.

There wouldn’t be a class that’d make sense for Midnight. Tinker, though, feels like a good fit for the Last Titan. Titan tech being a possible spec for Tinkers alongside Gnomish/Goblin would be pretty fitting for that expansion.

I think they are waiting until the Last Titan to add Tinker, though? It hasn’t been added yet.

Tinker makes plenty of sense for that expansion. For once, I’m gonna use a phrase that other people have been using wrong on this site for years. If they don’t add tinker during the last Titan one we’ve already had so many Easter eggs leading up to it in an expansion that has a lot to do with tech, it would be a huge missed step. This is the perfect opportunity to add something that makes sense.
