Hello, what can I expect regarding ping/connection in Pakse? Does anyone live near that area and play on the OCE servers, and if so, how is your connection? Thank you for any information.
You can check yourself as the report of others may not match your experience unless you have the same Internet Service Provider from the same major switch city.
- Open up a command prompt (right-click the Windows start button and in the “Run” box type CMD)
- Type “ping 103.4.115.248”
This will give you a quick idea of your latency (last line round-trip average). That server IP is from Blizzard’s Server IP Lookup for World of Warcaft / Oceanic. For a more detailed report about the hops to get to a specific game server in Oceanic do the following:
- Go to Blizzard’s Looking Glass tool page
https://us-looking-glass.battle.net/ - Pick US as Region, WoW as Service, and the Oceanic server you are considering joining
- Click run test
This might be useful in case your ping to the major WoW server hub is good, but your ping to a specific server is botched by a bad relay in the hop-path from you to that server. These are the Oceanic servers, if you didn’t have one in mind (maybe check population of where you’re going before you commit).
