Probably because this is in their normal working hours and a Saturday wouldn’t be.
Testers are from all over the world so where this may not be convenient for NA players who work during the day, it is for those who work late shifts or are from the other regions.
In the meantime, still getting “World server is down.”

It’s a beta test. If you can’t handle things being broken sometimes, you shouldn’t have paid extra to enter the beta test

You paid for BETA Access. Beta is going to have problems always, and that has been the way for over 21 years. You’re testing new content. Expect things to be laggy and break always.
This is not Early Access.

Can’t log in. Supposedly started 20 minutes ago but even after copying a character, I get “world server is down”.

It stinks, but these sorts of things happen. Just have to wait for whatever update they provide.
I’m hoping it gets ironed out!
