I’m sure Arthas would have liked to play with the blood elves.
…But he can’t, because you turned him into that pixie dust candy stuff.

ABOUT TIME. i cant wait. i love horde, but i also love void elves. this is going to rock!!!
Opposite-faction guildmates can only play communally inside instances; they’ll still be considered Unfriendly to each other (or Hostile in War Mode) in the outdoor world.
… lame. I figured this would be the extent of it.
Basically, it’s them catering to the 6 remaining RP/loreheads that still think the faction conflict means anything.
This dev team is virtually incapable of adding any new advertised feature without some kind of asterisk next to it. See also:
No, you could invite people cross-faction into a guild until they disabled it.
Face it man, you’re so determined to be right that you’re still ignoring the OTHER stuff they claimed was impossible to do because it was hardcoded, yet you don’t even blink at them today. They used to say vanity slots (what they termed mogging) was IMPOSSIBLE for the engine to do. Then they tried and oops, not so impossible. Backpacks? Nope, touching their code at all would cause a Jenga tower-like effect and take down the entire inventory system because they were HARDCORE HARDCODED. Until they tried and it… didn’t.
Faction transfers? Another thing not technically possible. Until they realized they could make money off it. Hell, CROSS-REALM PLAY was once said to be impossible outside of BGs because the game “wasn’t designed for that” and every server was its own separate universe.
This does not matter at all unless its cross realm too. Its not.
Need some clarified
how it work in connected realm? Is it count as the same realm?
Because they don’t want people to be able to invite their alts of the other faction into their private guilds.
Easy to bypass using a 2nd account.
Blizzard is your game so dead that they can’t even support 2 faction playerbase anymore?
I’m not seeing how that works. My alts on my other accounts do not appear in my friends list when they are online.
I only have 1 active account at the moment but it’s how I always invited alts before Guild Finder became an option. Have you tried adding any of your alts on a different account as Bnet friends?
OK I just tested this out and you’re right this won’t work. So Cross Faction Guilds aren’t really Cross Faction at all… more like Cross Battle Net Friends. Another reason the way this in being implemented makes them worthless.
And this was the only reason I had ANY interest at all in 10.1.
Even that’s giving it too much credit at this point.
Well, stop.
They have definitely thrown the Alliance a lot of bones in the lore while in reality they’ve been a faction on life support for a long time. This is Blizzard pulling the plug.
Lore and gameplay are two different things is something I hear often. The only place the Alliance isn’t mostly dead and gone is in lore.
Good morning Blizzard,
Why is it that with each “new” feature of QoL being added to the game, it undermines the 2-faction conflict that much more? Such as when someone thought it was cool to make a “merged” auctionhouse instead of keeping three (3) separate ones, one each for Horde and Alliance, and then a third one somewhere in Gadgetzan (which was Neutral iirc).
And then again with “cross faction instancing” for 5-man runs.
Now Cross-faction guilds are a thing? Okay, what’s next: the ability to read opposing faction “language” as real words? Or the ability for the opposite faction to enter a capital city without being targeted by NPCs?
“ Opposite-faction guildmates can only play communally inside instances; they’ll still be considered Unfriendly to each other (or Hostile in War Mode) in the outdoor world”
So still useless largely. Just get over it and do it 100% instead of this eggshells crap.
It’s far from useless if you do any content above LFR and heroic dungeons.
What a let down.
I was actually looking forward to this.
But seems its just a cross faction community with extra steps required.
In its current state, i dont see why it exists.
Hopefully this continues to be worked on and improved.
But if this is meant to be the finished version… yikes
