Iā€™m going to chime in ā€” that we need a post from a blue clarifying if things will be worked on in the future thats not mentioned in this post.

  • ā€œGuild repairs and social conveniencesā€

Does this mean we cant access the guild bank? We cant deposit/take items out if we have the rank/privilegeā€™s for it?

If so thats a huge let down. I want to contribute to the guild and in order to do that - I need to make essentially a mule or have an alt to send things over to the opposite faction to deposit items into the GBank/Use the GBank ā€“ aaannnd I wont be able to see or use the bank on my other faction characters.

Not being able to contribute to the guild, wont make people feel good.

  • Opposite-faction guildmates can only play communally inside instances

I feel like this is a thing like yesterday where people thought this post was that the cross faction guilds were being enabled early until they stuck ā€˜Previewā€™ at the front.

It needs to have non-Queued instances on there - because we all know it wont include Rando Qā€™s.

And this needs to include TW/Random Dungeon/Queued content. It cuts off what you can and cant do with your guild severely.

Example :
I like to level via dungeons and I offer to take whoever else needs to level along with me ā€“ being restricted to ā€œSorry, Iā€™m Alliance and youā€™re Horde ā€“ we cant do TW, Random Qā€™s ā€“ so sorry, youā€™re gonna have to go Q up by yourself.ā€ And that feels bad.

I dont think this is something that Blizz will ever implement and its rather sad and I know why ā€“ its for the people like posts above - ā€˜I dont want Horde/Alliance in my raiding/group, etcā€™

Get over it. Its a character on a screen for random content that youā€™re never going to see again after that content is done - unless you choose to.
Relax and catch up to the modern age with everyone where people just want to play the game with people freely, please and thanks.

Its like what was said above ā€“ this is a glorified Community ā€“ you essentially get the guild name, repairs and the ability to talk in guild chat.

  • You cant ( at least from what Iā€™m getting from this post - prolly missing a few but this is what I got so far )

Cant have access to guild bank.
Cant random Q for PVP/Dungeons, etc.
Cant join up in the outdoors.

Speaking of that last oneā€¦ why? I get it for places like BFA where we had distinctly separate quest lines. But the quests are the same for DF ā€“ we should be allowed to quest together.

Ok if someoneā€™s in War Modeā€¦ what about that ā€“ I think it was Dalaran Sewers? (Forgive me I dont PVP Much) had a NPC where you could swap to the other side. Why dont you have an NPC where you can enlist (I think it was called that) for the faction of whoever you want to run around with and you can go team up and kick butt?

But that would probably lead to PVPers mad about getting beat up by Alliance and Horde and bein confused or something.

World of WARcraft. It was the whole point to choose a side. The itsy bitsy teensy weensy player base makes it hard to keep the divide going.

Pointless to me without being able to cross queue random bgā€™s or dungeons.

Thereā€™s so much ā€œwarā€ in my 94% horde dominated realm yeah.

Iā€™m surprised so many people seem to view joining a cross faction community as too much of a hill to climb to be invited to a guild.

Please make trade chat factionless as well. Very restrictive and huge detriment to quality of life for both crafters and people in need of crafts.

Well, just imagine the same requirement to join a same-faction guild.

Not too much, just an obnoxious and unnecessary requirement.

another nail in the coffin

Real tired of reading this comment in any context, Iā€™ll be honest.

wOrLd Of WaRcRaFt!

Thatā€™s you. Thatā€™s what you sound like.

We fight a war in every expansion, and itā€™s actually rare that itā€™s against the opposite faction. The ā€œwarā€ is still in Warcraft.

Ok, I can imagine that. Still not an issue.

Having to click accept twice instead of once ā€¦ just doesnā€™t seem that bad to me. Did they make joining a community more arduous recently or something? I feel like I must be missing something.

After reading the full article, the implementation of this seems really disjointed.

Protecting new players is unnecessary?

Not really sure on that. The game itself was originally built to take into account the fact that they could remove the faction barrier at some point. For instance, look at character names on a single realm (before they combined realms). You couldnā€™t take the same name as someone else who was on the opposite faction. There were some glitches in the past where the scrambler bugged and people could talk cross-faction in zones. I think the systems are already somewhat able to do a lot of this, but we still have some legacy experiences that donā€™t work correctly (which can just be fixed by making them phased for your personal setup, like the intro quests to different expansion packs).
Honestly, at this point they should just make the Auction House one single thing that supports everyone in a region (ie. NA, EU, etc.) and let us cross-realm everything and remove the factions entirely. Maybe they are moving that direction, but a lot of these achievements that are restrictive should just become feats of strength instead.

We seem to be watering down the war thingā€¦in Warcraft :worried:

Looking forward to this! Please keep the cross faction things coming!

  • Guild members of the opposite faction will benefit from unlocked shared perks but cannot contribute to specific achievements. As an example, Alliance members of a Horde guild could not contribute progress towards the ā€œAlliance Slayerā€ guild achievement.

Why the heck not? Maybe they want to kill some people on their own faction.

Opposite-faction guildmates can only play communally inside instances; theyā€™ll still be considered Unfriendly to each other (or Hostile in War Mode) in the outdoor world.

Which poses other issues of not being able to do certain content together as guildies. This needs to change.

I know this is only the beginning for this sort of thing, hopefully more gets lifted soon.
