Placement games & Duo Q

I truly believe BgB would be a much better time for everyone if the duo q option was completely removed. This system leaves too much room for q syincing and boosting which really just waters down the fun for anyone climbing in rating. The game mode needs more balance and this is a clear way to do it. As for the placement mmr its genuinely awful, I won about 7-9 games in a row on my DevEvoker and lost ONE game, immediately dropped down to 1800 mmr. 2400mmr down to 1800, you all can guess what happened after that… well now I get to play the game with 1500mmr players that get mad because you call a strat. Those players deserve to be at that mmr with no team effort or game sense, but I get stuck with a high skill level watching these people light themselves on fire and throw away the water. Its painful to say the least, please fix these issues @blizzard

It wouldn’t be a better time for people who like duo queuing.

Let the duo q play with duo q players and stop letting rank 1 healers boost everyone in the game. I see these guys at every mmr level doing it at all times of the day. It’s a problem.

Sounds like long queue times. Makes no difference to me, I pretty much just queue BGB when no one is online, but duo queue exists solely to filter healers into the bracket.

I prefer longer q times for higher potential “good games” than a quick “oh yeah, gg” at the first 30 sec of a game because one team has rank 1 heals and the other team is full randos queing up a new toon. Seems fair

Duo queue is often the only time you can unbrick your characters MMR. At the start of a season if you get unlucky and lose 3-5 BG’s off the bat your MMR can hit 1000 or less and then you can be sitting waiting for hours for a queue pop.

this is only someone’s main option when they’re used to being carried and not actually making an impact on the game. The actual best way to unbrick your character is more balanced gameplay and actually making an impact/ playing well. Depending on pocket heals and comms with friends is just adding a loophole to a solo q environment so you have an upperhand…

Sounds like you’re experiencing some emotional reaction to an isolated game. Just go next man, it’s random queue PVP, it’s going to be garbage regardless.

It doesn’t have to be garbage and you don’t have to be condescending because I’m calling for balance in a fun game mode that can be more enjoyable if worked on. Only people upset about full solo q in a solo q game mode are people that need pocket heals to be effective & boosters!

I’m not trying to be. I’m just trying to explain that for a lot of people BGB is a social ‘me and a buddy are online,’ type deal. I bricked 500 MMR on this toon this week queuing with people’s fresh alts–it’s not like everyone who duo queues is some insidious person. But removing it just takes away one more avenue for this game to be social–which solo queue content has already practically turned this MMO into a lobby game.

You’re comfortably sitting R1 as Shadow right now–surely you can find a solid healer to alt with to make your games more fun.

I’m maining 3 Rshams this season, clearly if I had a goal this season, maximizing rating wasn’t it. lol I’d have to duo queue with a Pres just to not auto lose 75% of FC maps. :joy:

I don’t need pocket heals to be effective in the game and I believe there should be a lane for those that want to duo q and those who don’t. I’m all about balance and what is fair. Yeah you might be the small few who aren’t malicious or boosting but most are & yes I can absolutely own people on my spriest but my alts I can’t carry as hard and that’s where my issues lies, boosters and a terrible mmr system. The games are not even close most of the time due to people wanting quicker q times over quality games.

Well they have so many other enviroments to queue in to together so its a weak argument at best. It was stated before it launched it was open to being exploited and it has and often.

The idea was solo queueing but of course they leave it open to be manipulated. Makes one wonder with all the other options to queue with friends they decide to leave zero options for a true solo queue. Made zero sense.

If you suspect someone using RMT services report them.

If someone is paying gold to their duo queue buddy to boost them, that isn’t against ToS to my knowledge.

Wait what. So theoretically if I could become good at this game I could pay for repairs/enchants/gems AND help other players achieve their goals at the same time?

Yes, so long as it’s for gold and not RMT. That’s what the Service channel is for.

the dragon thing is a clear class balance issue, they deserve the huge nerfs incoming!

Oh gosh, the service channel, the final frontier of WoW PvP.

You could more than pay for repairs. You can make millions of gold per season doing 18-2100 boosts if you’re good enough to be accepted by a boosting community and can tolerate backpacking people through games.

I just genuinely believe that splitting the player base yet another time is just subject to hurt the overall health of the game more. I do sympathize with you, that at the MMRs you’re playing, there’s a substantial amount of cheating taking place so I will admit that your perception of duo queue is a lot different from mine. Either way, truly no shade was intended towards you–I hope a solution exists that appeases everyone and the game can be made better.

But I do enjoy my occasional ‘wanna queue some BGs’ sessions with people.

Ngl, I wish they would just take FC maps out of the rotation. The primary reason I never got too involved in BGB was running flags is annoying. I just want to heal/kill things.

Alas, I am a trash World of Warcraft player. But maybe if I just buy one more gaming mouse I will finally be able to Fade correctly.

You and me both buddy. Getting glad tabards on 2 toons will likely be the highlight of my WoW career, never to be repeated when inflation returns to normal. Lol
