I finally decided to start the final Remnant 2 DLC and lost my kitted out hardcore character to fall damage 2 days ago. that char had like 50 hours on it and was stacked
RIP to a real one
Rogue Support and Healing Runes
For Rogues who want to bring more than just damage, here are some runes that let you support your team with buffs, emergency healing, and crowd control:
- Rune of Coordinated Strikes (Shoulder Slot)
- Effect: Allies within 10 yards gain a 2% attack speed boost. Each finishing move restores a small amount of energy, rage, or mana. Using Vanish grants nearby allies a 2-second shield.
- Why Itâs Great: This rune offers excellent support in melee-heavy groups, giving your team a steady DPS boost and resource regeneration. The brief shield from Vanish can also buy allies crucial seconds during bursts.
- Rune of Twilight Aid (Backup Healer)
- Effect: Finishing moves heal nearby allies based on combo points. Every 10 seconds, your next melee hit applies a HoT to the lowest-health ally. Poisoned enemies pulse healing to allies within 10 yards.
- Why Itâs Great: This rune lets you act as an emergency healer, providing HoTs and healing pulses for team sustain. Great for fights with AoE damage where the main healer needs extra support or when youâre running with a lean healing setup.
- Rune of Umbral Remedy (Raid Healing)
- Effect: Finishing moves heal the lowest-health raid member, auto-attacks generate healing bursts shared across allies, Crippling Poison becomes Restorative Poison (applying a HoT), and gain âMend Strikeâ for an instant melee heal on a short cooldown.
- Why Itâs Great: Umbral Remedy is a full raid healing option, turning your rogue into a pseudo-healer. Between the healing bursts from auto-attacks and Restorative Poison, youâre keeping steady support across your group. Mend Strike gives you a quick emergency heal, making this rune ideal for high-damage encounters.
Combat-Focused Rogue Runes
For Rogues looking to maintain high burst potential in PvP and PvE, here are some runes to enhance sustained damage, control, and enemy debuffing:
- Rune of Relentless Strikes (Shoulder Slot)
- Effect: Auto-attacks have a 5% chance to grant extra combo points. While Adrenaline Rush is active, each hit extends its duration by 0.5s (up to 5s) and increases energy regen by 10%.
- Why Itâs Great: For aggressive Combat Rogues, this rune is about maximizing burst windows. Extra combo points and extended Adrenaline Rush mean sustained DPS spikes, ideal for high-priority targets.
- Rune of Toxic Mist (Shoulder Slot)
- Effect: Poisons have a chance to release a 6-second cloud dealing Nature damage, reducing enemy attack speed, and applying an armor/resistance debuff. Allies in the cloud gain healing shields from absorbed heals.
- Why Itâs Great: Toxic Mist adds control and debuffing, weakening enemies while providing shields for allies. Itâs especially useful in PvP for slowing enemies and reducing their defenses.
Hunter Support Runes
Hunters also get options for adding utility to their groups. Here are ideas for Marksman and Melee Hunters who want to provide team support:
- Rune of Precision Focus (Marksman Hunter â Ranged Support)
- Effect: Allies within 20 yards gain 5% increased critical strike chance on ranged attacks or spells. Every 10 seconds, your next Aimed Shot or Steady Shot heals the lowest-health ally within range. Critical hits apply a Vulnerable debuff to the target, increasing damage taken from all ranged attacks by 3% for 6 seconds (stacks up to 2 times).
- Why Itâs Great: This rune makes Marksman Hunters a force multiplier for ranged-heavy groups. The crit boost helps other ranged DPS, while Guiding Shot provides steady healing for extra survivability. Targeted Vulnerability lets the group burst down priority targets faster.
- Rune of Wild Ferocity (Melee Hunter â Melee Support)
- Effect: Allies within 10 yards gain 3% increased haste and 5% increased movement speed. Every time you use Raptor Strike or Mongoose Bite, your pet heals nearby allies for a small amount based on a percentage of your damage. Your first hit on an enemy applies a bleed effect, causing the target to take additional 3% physical damage from all sources over 8 seconds.
- Why Itâs Great: Wild Ferocity boosts a melee-heavy groupâs effectiveness with haste, movement speed, and healing. The bleed debuff amplifies physical damage, making this rune perfect for intense, close-range battles.
- Rune of Trackerâs Resilience (PvP Support)
- Effect: Allies within 15 yards gain 10% increased movement speed when moving toward an enemy marked by your Hunterâs Mark. Allies affected by Aspect of the Cheetah are also immune to slows and movement-impairing effects for its duration. Multi-Shot has a chance to Silence enemy players for 3 seconds (10-second cooldown).
- Why Itâs Great: Trackerâs Resilience is PvP-focused, providing mobility boosts for allies pursuing targets and temporary immunity to slows. The silence effect adds utility for disrupting casters, perfect for arenas or battlegrounds.
Warlock PvP Runes
Demonology Warlocks in Season of Discovery can use support runes to add control, shielding, and debuffs without relying on talents like Soul Link.
- Rune of Fel Dominion (Demonology Warlock â PvP Control and Support)
- Effect: Each Shadow Bolt has a 15% chance to apply a 4-second root (8-second cooldown). While Demon Armor is active, allies within 10 yards gain 3% increased healing received from all sources. Each critical strike from your primary demon (e.g., Felguard) grants allies within 10 yards a 5% movement speed increase for 4 seconds (10-second cooldown).
- Why Itâs Great: Fel Dominion provides PvP control and team support. The root effect on Shadow Bolt lets you control enemy movement, while Demon Armor boosts healing for allies nearby. The movement speed increase from pet crits helps allies reposition, making it valuable in PvP encounters.
Warrior Support Runes
Here are tailored support runes for each Warrior specialization, bringing team utility, shielding, and control to PvP and PvE.
- Rune of Rallying Might (Arms Warrior â Team Damage Boost)
- Effect: Allies within 10 yards gain 3% increased critical strike chance on melee attacks. Each Mortal Strike causes the target to take 3% more physical damage for 8 seconds (stacks up to 2 times). Every 5th auto-attack gives allies a temporary attack power boost for 4 seconds.
- Why Itâs Great: Rallying Might enhances melee DPS with a consistent crit boost, physical vulnerability, and temporary attack power buffs, perfect for focusing down targets in PvP or PvE.
- Rune of Bloodthirsty Bond (Fury Warrior â Lifesteal and Healing Support)
- Effect: Allies within 10 yards receive 2% lifesteal. Every time you activate Enrage, nearby allies are healed for a small amount based on your attack power. Each Rampage applies a stacking Blood Frenzy debuff, causing allies to deal additional 1% damage to the target (stacks up to 3).
- Why Itâs Great: Bloodthirsty Bond combines lifesteal with situational healing and damage boosts. This rune is great for Fury Warriors who want to add sustain in close combat, making it ideal for PvP or PvE with melee allies.
- Rune of Fortified Bastion (Protection Warrior â Mitigation and Shielding Support)
- Effect: Allies within 10 yards receive 3% reduced damage. Each Shield Slam grants nearby allies a temporary shield equal to 5% of the Warriorâs max health. Activating Last Stand gives allies within range a 10% health boost for 6 seconds.
- Why Itâs Great: Fortified Bastion turns Protection Warriors into team shields, reducing damage taken and providing protective shields and health boosts. This rune is valuable in high-damage encounters in both PvP and PvE.
Warlock Raid-Healing Rune
For Warlocks looking to add group healing potential to their toolkit, hereâs a rune that leverages health-draining abilities to support allies in a raid or group setting:
- Rune of Soulbond Restoration (Demonology Warlock â Raid Healing)
- Effect: Drain Life redistributes a portion of the health drained to nearby allies. Spending Soul Shards triggers healing pulses for allies within 10 yards. Using Life Tap boosts Drain Lifeâs healing by 15% for 6 seconds.
- Why Itâs Great: Rune of Soulbond Restoration turns Drain Life into a multi-target heal, redistributing some of the stolen health to nearby allies and adding a consistent support effect for group survivability. The synergy with Life Tap allows Warlocks to amplify healing during heavy-damage phases, while Soul Shard spending provides steady pulses of healing for the team.
Would also be cool if warlocks got soulwell. Doesnât need to be a rune, just something you pickup from a vendor like how mages got the new rank water and hunters got the new aspect last phase. Always nice to have, especially at the start of a new phase when people are learning fights or heavy aoe dmg fights like princess and V. in AQ40.
Not a rune per se, but people who transmog into goblins should be able to accesss their bank, i forget the retail ability but would be a nice feature to have.
You need to touch some grass, sir. And we can all use chat gpt
Yes, I did use ChatGPT to help me put my ideas together. I have ADHD and canât always put down my thoughts in a coherent way.

Nobody is going to read a wall of text spewed out by a chat bot.
For mage healing, I think they could make some changes to current runes to help them out. I think this would be helpful since many mage healers just opt to use damage runes rather than the mage healing-specific runes. As well as, make better use of the arcane tree.
Rewind Time:
- Reduce CD to 15 seconds or casting mass/regen reduces its cooldown by 2 seconds for every tick
- If mass/regen is reapplied, it still remembers the previous damage taken
- Rewind the targetâs temporal beacon
Temporal Anomaly:
- Applied to the targetâs party
- Follows the target
- Range increased
- It extends temporal beacon by 3 seconds the first time it hits a player
Mass/Regen:
- Should be on the same rune
Advanced Warding:
- When mana shield is casted on a target other than the player, the mana reduced is 100%
- Applies/extends temporal beacon for 3-5 seconds
- Can be on a different rune slot (or perhaps temporal anomaly) given that mass/regen is in one
Chronostatic preservation:
- CD reduced from 2 â 1.5.
- Mana cost is increased a bit
- This is to make it feel more like flash heal
- OR - Chronostatic preservation makes your next spell crit - this is to make up for losing spell power
Living Flame:
- the 10second thing starts once it hits the target
Some other ideas for runes:
- Presence of mindâs CD is reduced by 1 minute and reduces the mana of your next spell by some %
- Something like evangelism which extends your atonements/temporal beacon by X seconds
- Finishing mass/regen cast has a 5% chance to reduce the cast time of your next arcane blast by 1second
- Casting arcane surge extends extends temporal beacon by X seconds
- Evocation extends active temporal beacons by 2 seconds for each tick
- Arcane Power changes to Mirror Image, and now does the following:
- Summons a mirror image for the next 15 seconds that will copy your casts of arcane blast, arcane missles, and arcane barrage. The image will disappear if it takes damage
======
Something that would be cool is to make healhance possible. Particularly as SoD is experimental, it would be nice to continue experimenting with things people have theory crafted in classic (and other versions) before. Some new runes could be:
- Maelstrom weapon now works with chain heal and healing wave
- Attacking with your weapons while you have riptide has a 5% chance to cast riptide on the lowest percentage health raid member (this is also to make up for potentially losing ancestral awakening for spirit of the alpha)
- Mental dexterity can now be procced by landing a crit with your healing wave. The time could be reduced from 30secs to 15 or even 10seconds when its procced this way
- Something like ancestral guidance, but it converts 25% of your damage to heals on your earth shield target OR riptide targets
Mage Rune: Mass Rerolleration
Infuse your character with the mass rerolleration ability. Once per day you can change your class into something that actually works.
