It will die down. I know you’ve probably read it elsewhere as well, but it’s true. It’s something new to do (when it comes to Classic, at least). A lot of people want to see what kind of rank progress they can get by doing a week of world PvP. Not as many people are going to be doing it a few weeks, once they “get their fill”. Hell, I bet you nowhere as many people will be doing it by this time next week. There will still be a lot going on, for sure, but no where as much as it is right now. I know it sucks, but just wait it out a few days. Maybe level some alts who aren’t in contested zones yet, or level in dungeons for a bit.
Personally, this is why I rolled on a PvE realm. I played all of vanilla originally on a PvP server and enjoyed it. But this time I just wanted to relax (even though I still enjoy PvP). There is still wPvP happening on my server, though. Raids were trying to take down faction leaders and I saw a bit of fighting from flagged players out in the world.
I recommend not complaining and just getting on with it. Life is hard. End of story. So as not to sound like too much of a jackass, here’s a good tip I’m going to implement: start waking up at 4/5am to play (i.e., alter your sleep/wake schedule to enhance your gaming experience).
My experience is that I’m bored and playing retail again. I could go back sometime after they release actual pvp, but my boyfriend quit and isn’t planning on going back. I think he’s done with wow entirely.
I’m actually shocked normally servers are 1 sided but it feels pretty 50/50 here it’s been a war in every zone. Only bad thing other than the lag was me having to log out for work the next day. Got about 300kills and only died 2times
The amount of crying in one thread is so sad, this coming from an alliance priest whose one and only CC is mitigated by half the horde players lol. And I still got 400 HKs and didn’t once join a raid to do it lol.
First of all, it has been literally one day. That’s not long enough for anything at all to “kill classic”. Sky is falling much.
Second, who are all you people who didn’t know this was coming? Of course blizz knew this would happen. Everyone knew this would happen. Wth were you expecting, this has played out literally the exact same way countless times in the last decade on every blizzlike pserver.
Third, it is not that serious. Maybe it comes down to server balance, I’m on Grobbulus which is one of the most balanced, but I’m lvl 52, I am the ideal target. I went questing yesterday afternoon and got ganked one time. Later in the evening my guild attacked Hammerfell in Arathi until about 30 lvl 60s came and stomped us. As soon as they swarmed us I rezzed and went back to questing. It is not that serious.
I’m on a PvE server but was doing Southshore v Tarren Mill but ally on my server outnumber horde so it was just a steam roll. Horde made one good push when they finally had a decent amount show up and that was the most fun was when we started getting pushed back.
Steam rolling in an extremely lopsided battle isn’t fun imo.
I don’t know what fantasy land you guys have been living in when you all tried to sell this EPICWPVP story, but for the last 5hrs its been Horde dominating the entire server. They even pushed us into the waters of Southshore.
Open PvP WoW servers are just flawed by their nature, so have fun dealing with those innate flaws. Besides, in the original Vanilla WoW, PvP was stapled on as an afterthought to a PvE game. Enjoy.
