The “phresh” crowd probably retains a lot of pserver veterans, who all stopped wanting Lizzard to get involved once they realized that classic was not even remotely up to par with servers like Nost.

I think with SoM, WB’s should stay out so that everyone who advocated against them can get what they asked for. Instead of trying to force them into SoM, Blizzard should open a traditional server that has minimal changes, similar to how “Forever Classic” is but a fresh reset.
There is a small enough crowd that it could be done with mostly 1 or 2 servers and it can continuously funnel players into the Forever Classic realms, keeping them alive (hoping Blizzard condenses all current Classic Era realms to a handful).
