I have the following macro…
/petattack
/cast Cobra Shot
/cast Claw
/cast Bite
/cast Smack
Icy recommends it since the AI doesn’t do claw, bite and smack often enough. However, when I use it, the put moves up to the boss and then comes back.
If I have the first two lines, the pet keeps attacking.
How can I fix this?
The only time I’ve seen that behavior is when pet passive is enabled instead of pet assist. Click on the pet assist on the pet bar and then try it on a target dummy.
That might be it. Passive was on. I tend to use it when raiding so I have more control over when the pet fights.
If you’re playing BM you want your pet on target 100% of the time. It accounts for 40%+ of your overall st damage and even more of your aoe (multishot does nada, beast cleave does the real damage). Unlike m+ where your pet may pull a mob you don’t want, no such issue in raid boss encounters and you should take that leash off it for raids.
Maybe create a stop attack macro that includes /petpassive and hot key it just in case the pet may go off the rails but otherwise let it run free and wild and eat your enemies.
