Pet Battles and Cutting Corners

I love this game in many ways, but it’s really changing for the worse and I think everyone knows it. At some point, I just can’t engage.

These days, I play less and less. When I logged in yesterday before my game time ran out, I forgot that the transmog situation had occurred. All my characters I loved were different, and the only way back was through paying.

My talents were different, so I had to fix that. The game wanted to me to play Tic Tac To, and I did.

I missed the news about Pet Battles when it was initially announced, and only just found out they will be discontinued. I couldn’t navigate the forums to reply to another person’s popular post about the subject, so I decided to make my own in support.

There’s just not really much here for me anymore. I already paid for Midnight so I will probably try it out… but I find myself logging out faster each time, and increasingly disappointed in the Meta and the changes it brings.

I’m tired. I’m depressed. I’m poor. It’s been a fun ride, but implementing lazy changes to cut costs indicates to me how little Blizzard cares about the people - and the world tells me enough of that everyday.

Just adding an edit to say that reason people don’t pet battle is because it’s too hard. Wailing Caverns pet dungeon is near impossible without tons of level 25 pets of the correct variety, and Raiding with Leashes achievement for Stardust was one of the worst experiences I’ve had in the game. Many pet battle world quests will be randomly impossible too, like the phoenix in Legion’s Dalaran. The 50% reduced damage makes no sense for a turn-based activity. It was just too hard every time, and we just wanted to collect critters and breeze through repetitive gameplay.

Keep on rocking in the free world!
