I didn’t change the loot rules. Blizzard did. They saw a problem. Not me buddy-o. Why do you want to make this into me being an aggrieved party?
That’s asking too much of this community apparently.
I got a trinket off Mythic Lady Ashvane I didn’t want, but was BiS for a third of the DPS in the raid. Couldn’t trade it because of ilvl restrictions.
Got a warforged one after that. Couldn’t trade it either because of ilvl restrictions.
Got a titanforged one after that. Couldn’t trade it either because of ilvl restrictions.
Three trinkets. All “mine to do with as I wish” according to the sales pitch for personal loot, but I couldn’t do what I wanted with any of them.
And while warforge/titanforge are thankfully gone, the ilvl problems still remain. A good example is if somebody gets a caster staff that’s the same ilvl as their mace/shield combo… but can’t trade it, because it’s the highest ilvl staff they have.
The system is dumb.
No they didn’t. They saw an opportunity to blame casuals who got duped by someone for a blatant power grab taking loot control out of the hands of the playerbase.
And you fell for it.
Top progression guilds harbor the players who are borderline insane.
Nothing you change would discourage them.
Because i want a source?
I gave the link to the video where blizzard stated " Loot was being distributed unfairly within most guilds"
Still waiting on source from everyone
we tried it for years, and it turns out, yup it was asking too much, so bliz had to step in and remove ML.
Main issue is wannabe guilds copying Mythic world first guilds. They dont know how to distribute loot so blizzard took it away.
I don’t know much about the fantasy conspiracy theory story you made up to justify your beliefs. I only know what blizzard publicly stated as their reasons for MLs removal.
yeah so the ilvl restriction is ridiculous, remove that - but I don’t agree removing personal loot is the answer.
We don’t want to remove personal loot, simply make it an option like it was before.
^ What he said.
Nobody has ever suggested removing personal loot.
In fact, what people want is for master loot to be an option FOR GUILD RUNS ONLY. Not for pugs.
(I also think it should be Horde-only, since Alliance seems to have a lot of problems with responsibility, but that’s another topic…)
There is no difference between the people that play alliance or horde. They are just people. How are you so involved in the petty tribalism of factions that you can’t see that?
Because there is a difference, that’s why the progression playerbase has shifted more towards the Horde side over the years: Because a disturbing chunk of the Alliance playerbase is anti-raider and anti-progression.
The overwhelmingly majority of “my old GM gave all the loot to his girlfriend” posts are from Alliance players. I never hear about these horror stories horde-side.
When the game first started it was all alliance all the time. It has shifted back and forth time and time again, depending on whom was seen to have the advantage at any given moment.
Actually it hasn’t, Horde was the bulk of top progression guilds starting in Burning Crusade and it’s been that way ever since. The pendulum has tilted more and more towards Horde over years in terms of progression raiding.
Even in WoD, when they gutted Horde racials and a massive chunk of the playerbase flipped to Alliance, the raiding scene remained firmly dominated by Horde.
Making it an option doesnt work. You cannot trust humans. Most will run to ML so they can gear up their cliques quicker. Best to have these dictatorship systems not return
That’s one tiny slice of the player-base.
Absolutely. But it’s also the only thing that I’m talking about, so… what’s your point?
All I’ve been talking about in this entire thread is progression raiding.
The point is, your narrow viewpoint does not scale to what is good, or indicative of the game at large.
