Permission Denied by default feels like a miss

It’s really lame that 99% of houses I can’t see the inside. I feel like most people don’t even realize that the permission is set to false by default. Is there any reason people shouldn’t be able to see each other’s houses? It’s not like I can rob you, I can’t edit the house. I just want to see what it looks like!

In my whole neighborhood I found two houses that I can actually enter. :frowning:

Or also bear in mind, there’s probably quite a few who just want their houses private.

Not everyone who has one wants to have anyone and everyone running around.

Mine’s open for friends and guild.

I just see no reason otherwise.

As far as the pulled out of air players have been saying in posts before this are assuming that’s the reason but, I get that was a concern for some but again, even if fear of editing is a players reason, there’s nothing to worry about.

Lss, not everyone wants everyone in their house.

no, you may not enter my house.

  1. It’s their house to make that decision.
  2. They may not have started work on, may not have done much with it, may be in the midst of messing with hidden doors and traps, etc. that they don’t want people interacting with.
  3. It’s only for their friends.
  4. They just don’t want anyone there.

That’s as it should be and how it is in every MMO wit housing that I’ve played. Default to private, you choose whether or not to open it up.

Did you actually expect to enter any houses? Don’t assume the default is wrong.

What annoys me is the lesser sin of warnings on flyovers, that seems a bit too paranoid.

Yeah… I don’t get the whole “don’t enter my yard” thing. I can see it regardless. I can stand on the border and stare if I want. lol

Housing should be permission approved by default, PVP enabled and raids can enter neighborhoods and cause actual damage to the houses. Don’t want damage to the house? Form a defensive raid.

My door is always open, same IRL actually.

Beer’s in the fridge, no smoking inside and take your bloody shoes off!

As a private person, I don’t mind someone seeing my yard from afar and if they enter my yard, the yard becomes hazy so other players can’t really see much of the finer details and they only have a few seconds to get off the lawn.

I prefer it that way.

I just don’t want to come back home to see all kinds of randoms roaming around.

I often feel this way in real life. Why don’t strangers greet me with cookies when I walk into their house? All I wanted was some decor ideas

Sir, no socializing in this MMO

Most houses aren’t decorated at all, so I know they just haven’t bothered to change the settings. I’m willing to bet majority don’t even know it’s a setting at all.

I just don’t want to come back home to see all kinds of randoms roaming around.

It could be a private instance just for me. I just want to see. I’ve also never seen another person in my neighborhood at the same time as me. Most people spend maybe 10 minutes a week there lol. The odds of bumping into a stranger as their looking around seem to be extremely low. And you can boot them whenever you want.

Your extream need to see other houses can be solved by joing one of the many FB housing groups.

People pushing like you is why others chose to keep private.

Maybe go get yours done before you start fixating on what others houses look like. EA is in a few days and launch soon after, your fixation will be fine when neighborhoods are growing after launch.

10 minutes lol buddy I spend hours collecting and hours decorating and redecorating every day .

If youre going to try to state that nonsense get some actual stats and not one you made up.

Yeah it’s called Private Property.

Maybe the idea that a random bipedal murder dog can just stroll in, is off putting to their enjoyment of their cozy little living room.

Palia has house tours, where you go to a board and visit houses randomly. The way it works is that it takes a snapshot of the plot for a separate instance.

You can choose to be part of the tours or not and when people visit that snapshot, they’re not in your plot with you. They’re in their own snapshot of it.

Private interior, perfectly understandable and reasonable… private exterior, in all honesty shouldn’t be an option in public neighborhoods… they should be something available to charter and guild neighborhoods though sure…
