People who use curse with out overwolf

Some let you know, like bigwigs and DBM.

Yeah the Twitch app was a lot worse than the Overwolf version. At least the standalone version is an option unlike with Twitch.

You will get an in-game message saying “your so-n-so addon is out of date” It says it once you login. Also worse case you can just go to the Curse site and it show when that last addon was updated too so you can go off that as well. But I always went off the in-game message it gives me. It will be in the chat window.

not all addons do that. elvui does and i’m sure a lot of the other big ones do, but it’s not universal.

Very few AddOns do that.

All my addons from Curse do. I don’t use elvui though. DBM, decursive, gtfo, etc. all tell me though.

Negative. All the ones I do tell me and I use more than just a few.

i’m wondering if maybe you have an add-on that monitors that for you. handynotes 1.6.8 just came out, i have 1.6.7 installed, and i definitely do not get any kind of notification about it.

i think the only addons i get notifications from are elvui and details.

Wrong unless you have an AddOn sending alerts like you could do with WoWup. Details, DBM and a couple more are the only ones I get alerts on.

I had to give up on using wowup. Ever since the API lockout, I found wowup was just too screwy with my addons. So now I use the stripped down version of the curseforge spyware app. It works a lot better for my addons than wowup does even though its interface is pure garbage.

Yup!

I mean you already know when they will need it… like at the start of a big patch or new raid tier. That’s it, it’s really not a big deal. It’s not important to me that my addons are 100% updated every single hour that I’m playing.

I’ve had zero issues with it. Works just fine.

That’s fine for you… but some people like to keep their AddOns up to date.

I was leery about using it when I got back because overwolf was not something I wanted to try.

Curse client works as advertised, so I say go for it.

Then you shouldn’t do it the way that I do.
I like to keep my addons working, I just don’t care to micromanage every single update. It’s just not that serious to me :woman_shrugging:

Technically it’s still in development, so sometimes it’s a bit slow for me. But otherwise I’ve had no issues with it.

What… that reply doesn’t even make sense. :woman_facepalming:

Nope. Sorry. Please don’t tell me I am wrong when I do this myself and being I KNOW what addons I use and YOU DONT know what I use. LMAO too funny how you say I am wrong yet that is what I am doing. Don’t get all disgruntled because you ended up being wrong. LMAO

You are wrong unless you have an AddOn giving you alerts about what needs to be updated. Most AddOns do not tell you when they need to be updated.
