People entering THEIR key when it's YOUR group

Sure, but I know the run with this toon they didn’t finish. When it happened to my blood DK, they did 4 man it but only +2’d it, so if the person was hoping to get a +5 key from the run, they only got a +4 key.

I was going to suggest that the leader should just kick and replace the offender instead of leaving themselves, but… how do you know whose key has been inserted in a case like this? There may not be any alternative to disbanding and reforming from scratch.

And if you have to do that you probably wouldn’t want to include any of the same people, if you don’t know which one it was. That means looking for a new tank and healer, so the offender is clearly counting on the leader to just take the path of least resistance and do the run anyway.

Of course, if enough people insta-disband when this happens, then it becomes pointless for the offender to try it in the first place except as pure trolling. But if the tank and healer are willing to enable this kind of behavior, then the offender still gets away with it.

P.S. I doubt this sort of thing is common, but if it ever is, then Blizzard should add some way for all members to see whose key was inserted. That would allow the leader to target, kick, and replace the offender, which if done consistently enough would deter people from even attempting it.

You can see who went over to the key slot and put it in

I always thought that to be the case.

Never had someone else have the disrespect to do that before lol.

Nah, don’t leave yourself, just kick them.

Absolutely, and it SHOULD be obvious. Since you say you were running a +2 however it’s possible someone was new to M+, and I could see how someone who’s new might misunderstand and think that, for example, an ad for “HOI +2” means that you are looking for someone with that key. I’ve never seen this kind of thing happen before, so a new player getting confused is the only explanation I can think of.

There are situations you might not want that limitation, such as a group of friends running their own keys. Many tanks also expect to be given lead so that they can mark targets.

If so you could just pass less after inserting the key.

But I agree with others it was probably an accident by someone who doesn’t understand how the keys work.

for pugs yes for groups no.

Not to be that guy, but pug literally stands for Pick Up Group…

But I assume you mean premades shouldn’t have the leader only restriction, why?

Go in with your buddies, make the key holder the leader, after they put the key in they make the tank or whenever the leader again. How is it a big deal?

yawn potato, potato

I have never seen that happening.

Though i never run my own keys, that’s maybe why

lazy people do dumb things like slide there key in pretty simple. i can’t believe someone is actually lazy enough to not make there own group.

I don’t run them but, imagine not being a tosser and using your own key for someone else’s key and instead list your own group and key.

Yeah don’t do that people. Run your own group if you want to push your key.
