If I bring up my bruto and take care of my business, I will see if anyone is close and will target them to see if they are using either npc. I won’t dismount until whoever is using it leaves. I am happy to share at any time.
Maybe someone who wants to use the bruto, just stand directly under it so as not to be seen by the owner (probably won’t work for large races).

The problem is of course that you dont really know if someone standing near you is using it. They could just be standing there, talking to guildies or waiting for a group or just contemplating the universe.
I never dismount or move to get away from anyone. I call it up, use it as I need to, and dismount. Its impossible to tell if the mount npcs are being used and in my case any interruption to use is certainly not deliberate.
Anyone who would behave as the OP mentioned is a dimwit. Like ants, they are sadly everywhere.
Don’t have any of the convenience mounts, do players get a cut from the services they provide? That’s just odd behaviour…
Another reason to avoid hub areas whenever possible, the stupid amount of clutter from that mount is incredible, wonder if there is a way to access current expac features without having to deal with that…
Don’t have the bruto, but if I see people run up to use my yak while I’m fiddling with mog or selling things in a city, I’ll normally wait for them to finish up – the only times I don’t is when I either need to get going (quickly) in some manner, or if I straight-up don’t see them. If I have nowhere to be and they’re taking awhile with mog or smth, I’ll just tab out and do something else for a couple minutes. 
I don’t care if people use it when I have it out. I used to use other people’s repair mammoths until I got one for myself eventually. That being said, I will not wait for others and I’ll move on as soon as I’m done doing whatever I was doing.

I use it if others are around so I can just leave when Im done swapping mogs.
It was only 500 tender if Im remembering correctly.

I also leave after finishing my own tasks, but I don’t mind if others use mine.
However, when I’m AFK, I sometimes summon the Brontosaurus for others to use.

Sounds like a strange individual. I don’t stick on mine for others to use specifically (sorry, but there are enough others that if I drop there will be another), but I also don’t mind when people use mine while I have it up.
Only interaction with it that I (slightly) minded was someone cussing me out for using it in the world somewhere once.
Haha i like this post. I remember everyone complaining about it being $90 week 1. Now i ask for a bruto in random PUGs and more than half the group mounts up.
I’m too busy laughing at you when you pull that thing out to use it. Thing doesn’t even have a repair on it and y’all spent 90 bucks on it.

Using other players’ useful tools that they stupidly overpaid for is not meta. You will now start getting kicked out of cities for using players as NPCs. Make sure you commit to the “only one correct way” to be in a city zone…newb.
I absolutely love it. When people use my brontosaurus. I will pull it out. And leave it available for people in villages all the time when I go AFK
Well! in Dornagal, and maybe they planned it… it is SO SO convenient to just get on your mount and not have to fly to the ‘auction’, then the mail box… just saying. I did it for a long time. But… well, just saying.
We could all start a new 'go fund my ‘Brantasaruus’… haha just kidding.
I actually fwel bad if I’m on one of the special mounts, and I dismount and realize someone was using. I apologize and remount for them.
Its easy to be nice to people.
