ngl, this gave me good chuckle!
Thank you. That’s thoughtful. I do the same with the Yak.
Just imagine what their lives are like.
I don’t think anyone is offended. Use the vendors all you want! I’ll even sit for a minute or two before I go off to do what I was planning if I can.
Just don’t yell at me when I don’t see you using my mount and I have to go help a guildie. lol
My solution, if you’re using someone else’s, there should be a small 5% that goes to the person on the mount. Afterall, their time is just as valuable as yours. Time is the one thing no one is truly beholden to or owed.
Time and Death are the universal equalizers, and money is irrelevant to them. But paying someone for their time is the least you can do.
Also why I either use: my transmog toy, whatever amenity happens to be nearest and stationary, or my own Yak in the middle of nowhere.
Now that I think about it, I could make a ton of gold doing that and just sitting there.
Oh, absolutely.
I’m more so talking about the people in game and on the forums that are incredibly defensive about their mounts being used in the first place.
Am I alone in giving a /thank to the owner after using their vendor mount? Especially if they waited for you.
I have never actually encountered this lol. I usually see like half a dozen people at the hub with their mounts up just afk for people to use them.
Have never seen someone get upset or defensive about it. Just my experience though.
Doin’ God’s work, boys.
I do that! I got a whisper back once asking me why I was thanking them. I told them because I used their mount vendors. I got, “Oh, I didn’t even notice. lol You’re welcome.”
Yeah, if I see someone actually using my vendor or transmog guy on my yak, I’ll hang around until they’re done. Sometimes I’m not paying attention though and hop off and fly away. I hope no one takes that personally. It just means I legit did not see them.
Well you know just as well as anybody else that browses GD regularly that the vocal minority will always appear a lot larger as long as they’re louder than the others who don’t care one way or the other.
What is really funny to me is I absolutely know the same people that trashed the Gilded Brutosaur will use one of those NPCs on someone else’s Bruto because they don’t want to walk to the AH NPC/Mailbox.
Exactly! Sometimes I’m not paying attention. Or it’s a Gnome under my Yak.
Yea I don’t get people who get annoyed you are using their mount. Like, if you need to go somewhere then go away, I get that it’s your mount and I run the risk of you moving if I’m using its utilities. Don’t get annoyed and say something if someone is using it, and if it really annoys you then don’t plant yourself in widely used areas…
Same. If I notice people doing transmog with my yak, I won’t just move away. If I have an issue or am going to move I will just tell you.
I used to use the same Bruto in Oribos all the time. I tried to send the owner some flasks as a gift but it wasn’t a connected realm.
I spent like 45 minutes the other day just following around people trying to use their bruto. Didn’t really need to use it, I just like when they don’t want others using their mount. lol. Got two people to whisper me. Most just dismounted after a bit and flew away.
People can do what they want. Just find it petty and funny some will scoot away when you’re using it. Maybe get out of a main city if you don’t want people to come up to yours?
I have had the mount since BfA and I still check to see if someone is using it before I move or dismount. Not because I am a rug, but because I know it takes no effort to give them an opportunity to finish what they are doing.
That guy i just rude, If I see people using mine from BFA I ask them if they need a mailbox toy, I’ll also give them a heads up if a que has popped and they have 30 secs to finish and so on.
I would follow that person from Dornegal to the edge of Argus itself - it would be a source of nigh infinite amusement to piss off someone like that.
Okay but, you have to do an Oliver Twist/Tiny Tim impression the entire time to really sell the show.
