People defending lack of loot

personally I think theres more to that attitude than meets the eye.
“I dont want anything for my time investment”
Sounds suspicious to say the least.

Ive wondered about either trolling…or bliz staff posting, lol

“Now, I can plan exactly where the loot I need comes from. I can make a list, go to those dungeons and hope they drop.”

Wat?

You weren’t doing that before? Except, now, the boss that drops the thing you want takes twice as long to drop it.

I hate it when it rains loot in this game, its sucks beyond anything. There are no goals left no good feeling when something finally drops, nothing, its just more purple crap I do not want or need. Shadowlands did well in addressing the huge problem WoW has had with that particular issue.

I guess you can have lots of loot dropping with random stats or little loot dropping with good stats. The time it takes to find good loot with good stats probably works out about the same. BUT I made over 23k gold on two Eternal Crystal last week I think.

In order to understand the motivation that is really underneath this, you have to look at the darker side of human emotions.

People like exclusive things to be … exclusive. Even though it doesn’t tangibly hurt them when other people get what they think should be exclusive to them and a few others, it emotionally hurts them when they see others whom they think do not deserve the exclusive item getting it due to a lucky roll. So even though, as you say, a WQ casual isn’t going to get decked out in mythic raiding gear by a series of extremely lucky titanforged emissary rewards, the fact that they can get even one is emotionally unacceptable to the elitist crowd, because it injures their sense of exclusivity.

In effect, this is catering very heavily to this emotional tendency. As you say, it is RNG either way, but this version of RNG locks out the WQ casuals, which is the key part that the elitists were interested in to begin with. It goes back to the days of vanilla when the elite players would preen themselves in front of the bank in Ironforge in front of the plebs. That’s the mentality this caters to.

Were there not loot tables at some point? You’d still have to hope for a forge/corruption, but you could always target a particular item, or am I missing something?

Seems like now I can hope the item drops period, where as before I had a better chance of getting a less than perfect version (which could still be an upgrade for me).

But I may be misunderstanding you

Had they told Frodo that he “might” find the place to destroy the ring in Mordor, he probably would have just let Sam do it alone.

I kid I kid. I’m bored

Because you don’t know what it’s like to work hard to obtain anything, and the satisfaction you have when you get it. That’s anything in life. Trust me, get out of the mindset of feeling the need to have everything handed to you, and enjoy the satisfaction of earning it and you’ll love even life a lot better.

Titanforging was a system that reminded you that getting something that you wanted, at it’s lowest form, was simply you getting the weakest version of it. Mythic+ and normal/heroic/mythic raiding is the same thing, but the difference is you are only able to obtain what you’re capable of obtain by completing the content you can complete. Knowing that you can complete a certain content, but need the 15ilvl higher version of the piece of gear you got that you could obtain required you to continue to grind for something you already have. It placed no value in the item.

You’re a bad man.

LFG heroes weren’t really affected by the changes since they both don’t need nor were they getting the loot in the first place, so if anything this is a relative boost to them since now it’s harder for others to get loot also.

In the next three months a huge chunk of the player base is just going to outright leave because everything in this expansion is either time gated or blocked by the RNG monster.

They tried this same load of crap in Cataclysm. They should know better.

Please read the rest of my posts. I’ve already explained this multiple times.

Once upon a

Please wait 5 minutes for next post to complete thought.

Ok I see this:

But none of that stopped you from targeting specific pieces. If you wanted a staff for example, you could run things specifically that dropped them. Look how people farmed KR for the 2h sword.

Ehh with how scarce loot is and how many run you need to do to get that upgrade, I’m usually not even happy I got it just relieved it finally dropped and I can stop spamming 1 dungeon.

I’ve explained this multiple times in multiple threads.

Here’s the most recent one:

I don’t see anything you posted in there or in your post that I quoted from this thread that shows why you couldn’t target specific pieces though. And knowing that people did do that in bfa, I legit curious as to what I’m missing.

I literally explained why it was a waste of time and how the gearing system was just a mess with things being thrown at us from all directions and boxes. I’m not sure how much more you want.

I miss that old meme off the /v/ section of 4chan that had some obese kid who had more acne dots on his face than a raid boss covered in 40 aff locks doting it up that had the kid eating a plate of literal crap with the caption “Blizz bots will defend anything” then the kids asking for seconds. That sums those stans perfect. Its also been known they time gate and slow the flow of gear to keep players stuck here. Some guy who used to work NASA compared it to gambling addicts who keep doing that 1 last attempt with hopes," this is the time I’m going to get it!" Then it doesn’t so you try again with the same thought process.

to touch up on what OP said, he pointed out a type of person without signaling any 1 person by name out. You just snitched on yourself there dude or felt he was describing you enough to feel attacked. If you’re the type to praise them no matter what they do, well okay cool I guess whatever makes you happy.

No we actually weren’t… At the start of BFA countless players were livid about no upgrades some ran countless mythics and others like me received the same piece of loot nearly a month straight with minimal or no upgrade. It was so bad we had to use lower ilevel gear for azerite traits forcing us to pass over the higher-level ones that benefited us stat wise. Alliance players got free heroic raid gear at the start of the 2nd raid just for being out numbered. Yeah they clearly spoon fed us loot… Loot didn’t get fix until the end of the xpac when more people were playing FF14 and wow Classic. It takes them (blizzard) having the lowest sub numbers ever before they fix the loot issue which was at the end of the xpac…
