They already are moving Disc away from being a shield class (rapture was taken away), the one shield we pop on CD barely stops a melee attack. Then you nerf penance?? Just ran a 10 and an 11 and you could feel it bad. Penance is a quick help to heal up the party and I felt it wasn’t even ticking up the health. I think they way over stepped.

It is overboard for sure. I felt in floodgate shield/aoe damage. I play voidweaver and its trashed now
I also play VW and it is stupid they couldn’t nerf the oracle tree itself. I knew when oracle became busted that when they nerfed it they would somehow mess up the talent tree that isn’t broken as well.
The Penance nerf is being felt.
PW:Shields nerf is whatever, wish they would revert the penance nerf though.
Agree and that’s what I was really worried about. I’ve been playing VW anyways cause i personally don’t like Oracle in m+ at all. This pennance nerf Indirectly effected Vw
Yeah and the shield nerf doesn’t hit VW as hard but using the weal stacks on a shield to save someone is even less effective now. I think they need to buff the PWS modifier Inner Quietus in the VW tree to offset it since VW shielding was never an issue.
As far as the penance damage nerf, they should have just pruned that damage increase from the oracle tree instead of the base spec. Not sure where they can make up for that in the VW tree except probably buffing void blast more than they did.
I also play VW in raid because I like the VW heal style more. VW was already quite a bit behind oracle in raid and got hit almost as hard as oracle in raid.
I don’t think they want Disc spot healing, which is exactly what I was doing with Penance as Oracle.
I thought they were gonna target Oracle as well because Oracle doesn’t care what it casts Penance on, it can be enemy or you can spot heal with it. VW on the other hand, the spot heal on their Penance is weak and it’s a waste of a cast on an ally because their offensive Penance has more initialization offensively.
I don’t think anyone at Blizzard even plays Voidweaver Disc because the changes they’ve made to them so far have been bizarre.
I switched to Holy completely in keys, I don’t even play Disc anymore lol. The not having a bread and butter, actual good spot heal has finally repulsed me.
Yeah definitely feels bad. Its like voidweaver + penance or shadow word death are worthless now. They just want us stationary and spamming void blast which is boring and makes it very difficult to heal when you need to move for boss/mob mechanics… really dumb.
