Even the deserter debuff wouldn’t change anything. If your group wipes twice before the first boss, you’d save more time even if you ate the debuff. By the time you got into another group and got to the entrance, the debuff would be probably be gone anyway.
Id join a pug and leave immediately every Tuesday just for that title. It’d become a meme instantly, I guarantee that.
I respect other people, I just want them to have a title forced on them, publicly shaming them for a week because they got a phone call from their mom in the hospital.
If I see a helicopter stuck in a tree do I have to be a pilot to tell you something is wrong?
yes that would be the kind thing to do!
IRL stuff > gaming, and should not be punished (unless your are Alliance then you deserve perma ban)
I love these threads, can we have 10 more by Sunday please?
I never pug, I run with guildies, but even I can see the problem here. By your logic doesn’t the person getting theoretically punished here have the same options? Why is pugging only detrimental to the key holder? Don’t you have just as much responsibility to judge the groups you join as they have to judge you? If you’re not ok to spend at least the key timer in there why are you joining in the first place?
The simple fact is, the group lead can only judge you so much. Even if they ask if you’ll stay the majority of leavers will just lie and leave anyways because they know you won’t take them if you know they’re a leaver. This is why deserter exists in LFG. Behavior can’t be determined by an ilvl check.
IMO the best solution would be 2 different listings just like they have for m+ versus normal mythic. One for COMPLETION and one for TIMING/PUSHING. Put the leaver penalty on the completion listing and make it keytimer+15 minutes.
Since you know what you’re signing up for, they can make it increasingly punishing. Eventually leading to a full week suspension from M+ altogether that includes nulling your vault.
Yes!!!
a gnome should just kick them right in the ballz. That outta teach them!!
Ppl should suffer while doing keys with the bads. Never EVER leave!!! How selfish?! Its all about the bad player(s) and staying so they can get their loot to continue being bad.
That would probably teach them to judge the groups they join better. If you’re too good to play with scrubs stop joining their keys and push your own/find like minded people or run with guildies. Sound familiar?
This is 100% why I have io.
There is just less hassle if you have people of your own lvl when pugging.
I have a question
What happens if someone leaves and gets punished and then the rest of the group tries to leave because they can’t finish? Everyone get punished?
If somebody leaves that person gets The Debuff. Ad long as it was voluntary, “in other words they were not kicked,” the group can vote to abandon. If the person is kicked you either finish the key or wait out the timer.
To be clear if you’re kicked you still get deserter just like LFG.
First of all, I don’t even gotta be PC with this. I love keys. Best thing to ever happen to WoW. To be just one of a few ways to get good gear (expect that one time I got a trinket for a month straight…that was kinda crappy.) But, It’s just so fun! I also love the timer. I don’t want to talk to my friends (or pug team) in a calm manner and enjoy the instance. Nope. I wanna go go go! It makes me feel alive.
A lot of my friends are not playing rn (they don’t like SL. crazy, I know). Pugging is the only way to go. But, I just gotta remember I need to stay and not have fun when ppl are learning mechanics in 15s! I wouldn’t want to seem rude. Thanks so much man for the insight.
Vote to abandon works
Nope you need to remember that you should not go with people who have not done 15s. if you don’t want to go with people who have not done 15s. It is as much on you to pick your group as it is on them to pick you.
What about the ppl that had 15s timed and kept dying? I know, I can’t be selfish and need to be patient so ppl on the internet praise me. Thank you!
Nope by all means be impatient and leave but then you’ll have deserter and won’t be able to join any other keys. It’s not all about you buddy you’re joining a group of five people. If you don’t have an hour to spare don’t join a key
No, it’s not all about me. It’s also not all about the person(s) who are terrorizing a key. Sounds a lot more peaceful to leave and have deserter then to be playing with one,two people who keep dying that should be doing 0s/or are trolling someone’s pug key.
Then by all means leave if the key is that nightmarish. But as you climb up the punishment volcano, I think we all know your measure of what is a terrible key will change when the punishments get worse and worse. I doubt you’ll be leaving after one wipe once your suspension hits the week long threshold.
Or maybe, just maybe, you’ll learn to judge your groups better.
