It’s a crime that /mountspecial doesn’t make it show off its tail feathers.

I was expecting the same mountspecial from the blue bird in Shadowlands. Maybe it’s broken?

Flying mounts do have /mountspecial animations. It’s just that the default key to activate it is the same key used to take off - spacebar.
I’ve never bothered to check if you can change that keybind. Wouldn’t want to after so many years. I just keep a permanent /mountspecial macro on my action bars.

I’m looking forward to seeing it in dynamic flying. I wonder if the periodic little “coo” sound will be linked to using one of the flight abilities?

It almost looks like it was supposed to. It has those 3 layers in the tail feathers, but I guess they couldn’t figure out how to animate it to look right. I think if they hadn’t planned on some kinda tail animation, they wouldn’t have bothered with those layers moving independently of one another.
I would love for them to, but I’m pretty sure peafowls don’t do displays like peacocks. Which if that is the case, makes sense.
It’s still one of the better looking mounts, imo. Very pretty!

Per National Geographic:
The term “peacock” is commonly used to refer to birds of both sexes. Technically, only males are peacocks. Females are peahens, and together, they are called peafowl.

Birds are fun. The males have to look all flashy and figure out snazzy dances. The girls just eat and are relatively unimpressed for the most part. lol.

I don’t really like bird mounts but that one is gorgeous. At this point I figure I’ll wait until the last day of the month, see if next month looks like it’ll be a heavy spender for me or not, and if not, just bite the bullet. If it is, I’ll probably drop the Paladin “set” I have frozen and freeze the mount until I have more buffer to justify such a big purchase.
I have it on freeze and trying to resave my tenders.
