Okay. Ill stick withn 650 then. Ill post my power supply results after I test it tonight.
Update: Just tested the power supply. +12v is reading L.L. Pretty confident PSU is dying and is the source of my issues.
Looks like you have things under control now Pamellyn. Let us know when you get the new power supply in.
No more issues!!! WoW booted right up and is running beautifully!!! Thank you guys!
Good to see
I thought it sounded right. Random restarts are a big red flag for a failing PSU. Glad it was something easy.
People don’t appreciate how hard WOW can be on a computer and it’s why I’ll use it to test an overclocks stability. Benchmarks will run fine, Prime95 will go for hours… WOW will crash in 5 minutes.
Thats interesting…I never knew that Yeah WoW was the only game making my pc reboot unexpectedly. I couldnt understand it.
With wow its actually common. The first thing to go in a computer power supply is its recovery to transient loads. When a sudden load is applied the voltage drops The voltage drop should be no more then 10 percent. so 10.8 volts if the drop is below that its likely going to cause the computer to reset. WOW unlike many games the load on the Power supply is constantly changing.
I can’t thank you enough for posting this. My PC is doing the same exact thing and I now know I need a new Power Supply. Mine is approximately 4-5 yrs old. I was beginning to think I was gonna go crazy. XD
Hi Illyrian
Can you fully describe this crash. These things can be caused by heat, power supply, even drivers. We should investigate a little more before we blame the power supply.
Start with a DXDiag report.
The second section of page has DXDiag report instructions - *we don’t require the MSinfo report.
That will be a wall of text. If you have issues pasting on the Forum here go ahead and put it up on pastebin.com Provide the link code portion of the URL - example below.

Hello guys, I got to this post because I am experiencing the same issues.
The system reboots without BSOD whenever I log in into Oribos. I have tried logging into other toons outside the Shadowlands area and it didnt crash. First it was fine at Oribos, and then it started rebooting at the In-Between areas when I was flying over them.
Weird thing is I just replaced the PSU because the last one had a problem. (new one is the Thermaltake Smart 500w - cant seem to post the link)

edit: first I got the PC into maintenance because of this and they didnt find anything wrong, at that time I thought anything was causing the reboot, not just wow. Then I found out that just WoW was doing that and started investigating where was the issue.
I have tried switching off the automatic driver updates of Windows with Wu10Man and wiped everything with DDU on safe mode for a clean install of the latest nvidia driver. Didnt work
