Pad damage isn’t what gets kills.

I am fine with the dot damage nerf, but the DC nerf on top of it is also just what?

That’s what people seem to be missing here. Rolling dots on the whole enemy team isn’t the same thing as dealing effective damage. It’s a minor inconvenience at most, probably not even that. You’re just uselessly padding your numbers instead of meaningfully contributing.

Being able to rot down entire teams is pad damage? Dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.

Any team that gets taken out by a UHDK’s dots was never climbing the ladder anyway.

Its pressure. Its to dish out constant pressure. When people would build a condition necromancer in GW2 prior to new gear sets being released, you got condition damage, vitality and toughness. You put out pressure, stack up bleeds and apply poison onto an enemy and then use epidemic to put it on everyone. So while your direct damage wasnt high the pressure you could put on teams was absolutely huge.

Also, if the dots werent anything to worry about then why is there so many complaints that unholy is now dead when the patch hits? It doesnt really make sense.

They say “pad damage is meaningless” and “the spec is gutted because they reduced our damage” in the same breath. Comical.

If its pad damage being nerfed by 15% then it doesnt matter, its still just going to be pad damage and not meaningful because they are saying pad damage isnt meaningful or effective.

I dont know why people continue to play something they just constantly complain about.

lets be realistic, they rerolled and “tried” hitting buttons but without thousands of hours of time spent on class they aren’t anywhere near a main in terms of output and gave up. why do you think people are constantly asking for the class to be dumbed down, its not friendly to FOTMs.

Please specify that you’re talking about pvp. They need to stop balancing pvp against pve, luckily these changes don’t seem to be affecting pve too much.

Unholy didn’t get any pve nerfs. Of course they’re taking about PvP.

You got the right idea, but there’s a point where enough pad becomes rot pressure. Let’s say for example, prenerf it takes 5 seconds to do X damage, and healer can recover with 2 healing spell / global for 2 players. This puts them behind on globals eventually hence the rot playstyle. Now let’s say post nerf they can recover in just 1 global instead, now they have an extra global to land CC, do damage etc. micro moment decisions of damage or healing eventually snowballs the ~2-3 minute match and inevitably someone ends up being first blood. It’s a big deal when these moments of decision take place that eventually dictate how the match will go. If a DPS doesn’t feel the pressure, they may decide to push in, while before they may have decided to back off to recover.

Problem is, the dots weren’t that strong to start with. About the only healer remotely threatened by them was resto shaman. Granted, resto shaman isn’t in great condition at the moment, but still kinda says something that only healer having an issue here is the one underperforming.

Now, if we’re talking double or triple DPS meme teams (in 2s and 3s, respectively), then you’ve got people getting demolished by the dot cleave. It’s a whole 'nother ballgame when you take healers out of the equation. Though, it is important to consider arenas are designed with a healer presence in mind.

It’ll be okay. I don’t care if they nerf this specialization in to the ground by 50%. I’ll still play it because it’s my main specialization and I like the gameplay style and theme.

Mayhaps you all will return from whence you came? I hear Devastation Evokers are fun and definitely not a problem, Frost Mages are also “super strong”, and with a 20% Mortal Strike buff it seems Arms Warrior is fun (the better Frost DK spec and you can transmog blue armor on and a blue enchant and roleplay!).

Nerf my class–it doesn’t matter. This pendulum swings and some people will be lost and fall off the boat. I don’t need to be the best, I’m already the best.

Ret was buns got a rework became gods which in turn killed off dks even more.

Before ret rework it was chill to play dogwater unholy dk

After ret rework unholy dk became unplayable.

They just needed to buff arms / ret and dks go back to the gutter.
