Why can’t you guys just make these changes at season 3 start so it doesn’t supremely upset everyone who’s stockpiled caches? Many of us are already at our max level on our heart of Azeroth so the AP can’t even be used. Some players have stocked up and grinded world quests strictly for this leg up when patch 8.2 releases. This is wasting players time and making a very player unfriendly change. Please don’t push this through until season 3 starts.
I don’t really see how it’s a bait and switch. No one was explicitly told to retain boxes to get a slight head start on 8.2 only to have the reality change on them.
When I started storing boxes, I did so under the assumption that I might benefit from it, but there was a good chance that the Azerite would either not count or be removed.
Tbh I was surprised when they introduced the system that allowed us to keep the chess, it was something so easy to exploit considering neck levels get easier every week.
Oh you enjoy investing a lot of time for a desired result to have the opposite happen?
I wanted to use a different title but I’m pretty sure blizzard would’ve deleted the thread immediately. It didn’t explicitly state one or the other for how paragon would work, the FACT is it worked one way all expansion and is now being changed after players are under the assumption it would work the way it currently does. This should’ve been addressed early with a blizzard post, not less than 1 week before 8.2 drop.
This info feels as if it were purposeful withheld until the very last moment and the way it’s perceived is as if blizzard wants to waste everyone’s time who’s stored caches. I can understand blizzard’s stance to wanting everyone to start on a similar playing field come 8.2 but sliding the change in last minute is a terrible change.
Only the 6 you have in your bags/banks are having their AP stripped. The 12 you haven’t collected off the emissary NPCs will still grant their AP, so you’re losing at most 15k AP which you’ll most likely easily get in the 2 weeks before Season 3 starts.
I invest time in things that may be worth doing on the chance that I may benefit, setting my expectations such that, based on previous AP trends and changes, I expect that it’s likely to not bear fruit.
Nothing has been changed here. When artifact caps were raised in Legion, stored AP items did not work and could not be used.
This is literally the same thing happening, and you’re acting like it’s somehow surprising.
That’s you failing at pattern recognition. And even if it wasn’t, this still wouldn’t be a bait and switch. It’d be you making an assumption and then getting mad when your assumption wasn’t correct.
Yep, and this is why people are beginning to despise retail because meaningful work and effort is quickly destroyed by blizzard’s philosophy. Their philosophy shifts and ruins any feeling of progression people have, add in awful RNG, TF/WF and we have a recipe for disaster and dissatisfaction.
This is blizzard constantly moving the goal posts making players feel apathetic about attempting to progress their characters. This feels awful.
Coming from the guy who just employed this massive false equivalence?
You keep up your little victim narrative. People with the ability to understand patterns in game systems either didn’t store boxes or did so with the understanding that doing so might prove to be ultimately fruitless.
I saved boxes that had gold, resources, and AP I couldn’t use.
When I open them, I’ll get gold, resources, and… none of the AP that I wouldn’t have been able to use.
6 in bags and 12 uncollected waiting at the emissary NPC. And only the 6 in bags are having their AP stripped. The uncollected 12 are unaffected by this change.
