Pandaria is Beautiful

Man that just sounds beautifully poetic. Would have been the perfect way to close out the expansion.

Pandaria was beautiful and at peace…

And then the Horde and Alliance attacked…

Did they fix the bug in Jade Forest where you’re getting the report on what happened by playing as the various npcs, but you wouldn’t actually become the npc and couldn’t progress?

It was. Used a different color for each row. Which is part of the reason why I’m gonna hop on my lock to head back there to see if it’s still like that. Be some wonderful nostalgia.

Just got my Vulpera warrior to Timeless isle

IIRC that bug affected one of my alts awhile back but was then patched. I was pretty bummed at the time, because Pandaria is my “vacation” xpac.

Really makes you wonder what Dread Wastes looked like prior to the Sha of Fear ruining everything.

I’m kinda upset that the Vale recovered from the Sha of Prides / Y’shaarjs corruption, but the Dread Wastes are still corrupted by the Sha of Fear. Stupid timeline phasing!

Well the buggies there keep slurping on that Old God juice so…yeah…

I did a bit of Pandaria on this character. I played that expansion into the ground for the most part (unsubbed near the end), so I go from nostalgia for it to feeling like it’s played out. Has some truly stellar zones though. It’s high on my list of options at that level, I think I did more deepholme than anything else, never understood why people hate that zone. I love being in a giant crystal cavern with multiple levels. Deepholme is perhaps my favorite zone, but overall I prefer MoP to Cata.

I’m not a fan of eastern themes, but Blizzard really nailed the aesthetic, ambiance, and general world building in Pandaria. Like, perfectly. They craft nice cohesive zones with good art and music and more bustling NPC life than they used to in more recent expansions, but none of it is fleshed out to the extent Pandaria was beyond the surface level.

And what was truly impressive was that Pandaria was only named dropped by Chen back in WC3: TFT (when he originally came from there until it was retconed) and what we got in the non-canon RPG books.

Blizzard basically created MoP from scratch. Hell, all of the major villains (Shek’zeer, the 7 sha primes, Lei Shen, Y’shaarj and Garrosh) were all WoW original characters. And only Garrosh was from a previous expansion. Meanwhile every other expansion, at least one of the major villains of the expansion was from the RTS games.

I always post in Pandaria threads. It’s a personal sense of duty because Pandaria leaps at you. Yet you aren’t afraid. It welcomes you in. This expansion for me is the highlight of this game. I’m biased because my main is a warlock and any warlock will tell you that this was OUR expansion. Man warlocks were so awesome in Mists. What a shell they’ve become. But anyway everything about Pandaria is beautiful. Even when N’Zoth fills the water with mutated fish and pokes his tentacles through the ground, it is beautiful.

It indeed is beautiful yet I’m quite certain Hernex was talking about the Black Empire Assault going on…

The Dragon Temple has more on it than the Serpent’s Heart yet is less magical somehow. Same goes for the Temple on the Glass Cliff.

Presumably Manti’vess resembled Townlong Steppes. The Blue Grass is the result of the Sha of Fear’s corruption just as how the Golden Blossoms in the Vale are the Mist of Pandaria/Sha of Pride’s Corruption.

How the Sha of Pride’s tainted receded enough to return to it’s previous status is probably no different from how the Sha of Hatred’s taint hid itself until we forced it out in the open.

The Vale of course got it’s Water back healing the withered dried earth and washing away the White Void Flames thanks to us purifying Immerseus.

N’Zoth poked his tentacles through Sha of Pride tainted ground that is no longer burning with Sha Energies since the Water came back and put out the Void Flames.

Of course N’Zoth wasted no time in turning the Water Elementals into Reddish-Orange Water Elementals filled with his Delirium Magics and having them play in the Water making Void Tentacles.

His corruption fittingly doesn’t burn the Vale anymore than the Sha of Pride’s corruption did. The Heart of Y’Shaarj was the most damaging to the Vale due to the White Void Flames and draining of Water which we ultimately fixed undoing the damage the Heart caused.

Probably still nice and purple but with more lively amber trees since purple and orange do look nice together along with blues.

Pandaria is my favorite continent. Definitely a place worth slowing down for.

The Jade Forest is my most favorite zone in the game. Howling Fjord comes in second and Grizzly Hills at third. The music and the art design really captured the whole vibes to it so perfectly. Whenever I level, I always leveled in those zones.

The only reason my hearth isn’t in at the Pandaria Shrine anymore is Blizz took my portals and it was becoming very impractical. It was home for years. I love Pandaria.
