Both Priests and Shamans have the ability to totally shut down a Paladin. Granted I think Pallies are fantastic and I have one, but people are very much understimating the ability of a healer that’s paying attention to render a Pally totally useless.
And aside from purge (that both classes have), let’s not forget Horde Priests can also Mana Burn spam and make a living Pally totally unable to do anything. Hpals are almost unbeatable defensively until another enemy healer comes along, and those enemy healers can easily 1v1 that Pally and win if they’re half decent.

Paladin can kill a rogue or warrior with out touching them. Literally a rogue or warrior attack you will need to go first aid or pot to attack again. Does blizzard need to fix the issue yes but you should never die to a rogue or warrior unless they super out gear you as in if they were T2 and you were in greens even then it would be close match.
Paladin and shaman are the strongest melee classes.
Paladin weak against priest and shaman.
A mage would go oom before killing a good pally. Mage goes oom is a dead mage.
Paladins are the best support class in the game. Hitting like a wet noodle is the trade off for that, that’s why later expansions gave Pallies dps but took away some healing and utility…If you want to wreck face at least some, then gear as a shockadin.

Good hunters can also take down Paladins pretty easy, just keep Viper string up and gg.

why would you roll a class knowing full well its only viable because of an exploit, and they you want others to feel symapthetic to you when the exploit gets fixed??
no changes doesnt apply to exploits like that

Didn’t we get these exact same threads like 15yrs ago? lol, Ret still works. Get your TUF, Don Julio’s, and actual DPS gear, and try again.
And for reference, played since Vanilla, tried all sorts of specs and combos. Reckoning wasn’t the only viable PvP dps spec.

Yes that’s the idea, paladins are generally protectors and healers. I think you meant to roll a warrior and hit the wrong button.

Anyone that thinks Paladins are useless offensively is full stop, hands down, no memeing, doing it WRONG.
Here’s a few tips:
2H yes
Warrior Gear No
Base Int No
Engineering yes
Also, the only damage dealt by paladins that does not scale with Spell Power… Is their white hit. Now figure it out and stop blaming the class for your mistakes. Theres a reason people fear a Paladin in Judgement with a 2H and laugh at a Paladin in Valor or Warrior damage gear with a 2H.
It’s the Spellpower.
There’s a gear set available in this game, right now, that allows a Paladin to have 900 AP self buffed, 20% Crit, 200 Spellpower, 4k health and 4K Mana. It’s 100% plate with 1 exception and requires nothing more time consuming than Ony or Rag. After 15 years if you’re still failing at Paladin… it’s a you problem…
I would argue the best gear for the ret paladin is the AQ40 set. It’s glorious. Plenty of spellpower, melee crit, and strength. Along with a decent smattering of Agi/Int/Sta. Unfortunately I don’t want to endure MC and BWL as a healer in order to be part of AQ40, so the Honor gear is good for me too.
Ret depends on crit more than anything imo for keeping vengeance up, which is a big boost to our DPS. My character is stacking crit, and I did an LBRS run and I pulled from the tank a few key times due to back to back crits and SoC procs.

To those saying hpallys are OP all it takes is counterspell/curse of tongues spam and theyre useless, so please kindly stuf. Pallies are the weakest class in the game by far.
Not saying Pallies are OP… in fact, no one should be saying that. But weakest class? not by far if you know how to play by your strengths. You’re not generally going to be a DPS machine unless you have really high end gear and weapon. But in between fights, you utilize healing, blessings, etc. BoF generally scares the crap out of range as they have no real option but to run from you. Or just as good, you can BoF a warrior and let them run through mages.
Counterspell? If we’re talking 1v1, you bait the counterspell. If you don’t know this by now, you haven’t really played a pally long enough. Curse of Tongues? That only affects our healing. So are you saying we’re completely useless without healing, or slowly heal for a short amount of time? Clearly you’re playing the class wrong.
I’m usually the one to run into Horde and break their lines. They focus on me as I stun, Repent, Bubble + Goblin sappers… they can’t do a damn thing to me as my team starts picking them off while distracted. Then I run at mages with BoF and watch them panick. Not OP at all, but certainly not weak at all as I play to our strengths.
This class is highly gear dependent. Don’t have the gear to DPS? Then you probably shouldn’t be DPSing just yet.

Pallies carry entire groups in pvp so I wouldn’t call that weak…
why didn’t you roll a mage instead of a healer?

it’s not an opinion that paladin is one of the worse classes in terms of dmg.
