If you’re being honest with yourself, outside of very rare occurrences, that is literally every class forum. The overwhelming majority of all theorycrafting is done in the discords at this point, because there is always (a) a few people who refuse to accept fact and continually post anecdotal drivel, or (b) those who just disrupt and attack the theorycrafter.
This is the answer. Most people get mad when they learn their anecdotal evidence is in fact wrong.

Dont listen to Drakov. They have no clue what they are talking about. I had biceps on ignore WAY before he left the forums.
There also werent any theorycrafting threads on here. Biceps wasnt even a theorycrafter, he just ran a bunch of sims and used those sims to tell people how to play. Taez which was an actual theorycrafter went through why things were what they were, why they were an issue, and showed the results of it. Like when he was talking about Unholy not representing its description through gameplay.
Biceps left because no one was interested in what he was trying to do, improve peoples gameplay. He made threads after I had him on ignore telling people he would review their logs in order for people to get better. Do you know how many people posted their logs for review? None. Because people on these forums already think they are the best of the best and that the tool is holding them back.
They want Dk to be overpowered instead of them trying to get good at the game. If no one is going to ask for his help why bother being around? And the funny thing is, my information and Biceps information (the guides that he created) were basically identical and I dont read Frost guides because Frost should be just common sense.
What is absolutely hilarious is that Drakov just derailed this thread and Aragorn is just a perpetual doomposter that posts these hollow ultimatums that he never follows through on. Drakov tried arguing with me about there not being a forum ignore.
This thread also didnt age well because DK is doing really good. A nerf comes along because its needed and people flip out then doompill the rest of the expansion because their performance is crap (the players not the class).
It’s funny to me that any semi-significant post about the DK class, you show up and nuke it with vitriol and pointed insults and aspersions about other players, and at some point, you start blaming everyone else for their opinion or ideas about the class and it’s performance as if it’s their fault. Almost no one is in agreement with you or shares your opinion. I won’t argue against the potentiality for it to be some degree of confirmation bias, but hell dude. At some point you have to ask yourself if the destructive, negative and otherwise abrasive and obnoxious behavior is you and not everyone else. You bring down and drag the whole community and you barely play the class at any level that’s significant for you to criticize and I think that’s kind of disappointing.

I think your assessment is knee jerk and not at all requires any nuance consideration to the gripes people bring up about the class because you have a stick in your craw about people wanting the class to feel impactful and to you, you think people don’t want to “GITGUD” but this isn’t Soulsborn, and tedium doesn’t = skill or being good. I think you need to step off your self imposed ivory tower made from Elmer’s glue and try real hard to see from a perspective that isn’t inherently antagonistic to the community.
It’s not knee jerk. I’ve been hearing the same ol song and dance whether DK is middle of the pack or 3rd in the rankings. The people on these forums want to be overpowered.
This applies to every class.

Also, what’s with the ridiculous zoomer fallacy that “mid” is synonymous with “bad”. Did none of them mentally age past the concrete thinking stage?

Nothing wrong with where Frost is. People tried to come out a few days ago saying “see I told you DK was bad” yet Frost is already climbing. It’s 7th now out of what? 25? DPS specs?
It’s upper mid I’d not in the lower top at this point in time but someone will manipulate the data for it to say what they want.
WoD Frost was literal gutter garbage the entire time but people say it was good.

It’s not a zoomer thing. More like a corporate thing. Give your delivery driver or a customer service rep four stars out of five, that’s a one star as far as the company is concerned. Rate a video game at 7 out of 10, you’re calling it an abject failure and fans will be ready to string you up on the rock next to Prometheus. It’s a bunch of idiotic nonsense of corporations pushing a bottom line and people not able to stand someone else may not have liked a thing they did.
The players or viewers aren’t a corporation and corporations don’t deal in ratings, they deal in dollars. Did they turn a profit or not.
Concord didn’t even get close to turning a profit but it got a 7/10 which is considered a good rating. These corporations pay journos money for these ratings. Corporations try to manipulate the audience with these scores.
These forums try to manipulate the rest of the players as well by saying X is garbage, Blizzard hates Y, they hate Z because the devs were owned by someone playing it despite reality and evidence pointing the other direction.
Frost is towards the top but people wanted to take advantage of a limited number of logs to say something was bad. Manipulation to deceive others and then say “you don’t know what you are talking about about” when there is opposition to their lies. Been seeing it for years.
DK is in a very good place rn. The small nerfs were incredibly minor and shouldnt impact ur overall dmg too much. Most glaring issue rn is the dependency on KM procs but thats a design discussion, not a numbers one. Look at any decently geared DK that knows how to do their rotation properly and they’ll be pumping good numbers.
But then again, playing well and with decent gear.
I’m still playing my dk, I don’t get the FoTM fever that ppl get. I also don’t get the ppl that feel they have to be #1 in the metres or the whole game/class/spec is bad.
Just play what ya frickin enjoy.

Ego and ranking mentality. Thats really it. Most of these people do not have the ability nor understanding to reach the rank that they want to so they blame the tool while others are performing well with the class.
