I don’t know. I don’t think they intended for this to happen. They are prone to overlook stuff, as they admitted with the benthic gear lottery.
This being said, if they want to prove their innocence, the only thing they can do is simply remove the WoW token or change how it works.
The whole “pay to win” thing has been in WoW since blizzard introduced the WoW tokens, converting cash into gold and vice versa. But it hasn’t been as big a topic as it is now until now.
Try to think of the problem as a whole, not just zoom in on one particular aspect of it.
