I did not look at druid so perhaps the feedback is positive there, but on rogue, warlock, demon-hunter, and hunter the overall feedback (I said overall), is overwhelmingly negative.
But are these complaints warranted or are they just the product of bitter and angry players that just want to be negative and hate? I read through the longest and most detailed posts from people who obviously had data to back up what they were saying. And I have to say, the feedback is not unfair hate, it’s actually extremely accurate and just.
I genuinely feel sorry for the devs, I can’t imagine what it would be like to try your best to make a good game and make people happy and having so many people deeply unhappy with so many class changes, especially when the paladin and mage changes were received so positively.
I hope they can sort it out by the time the patch goes live, but that is beyond wishful thinking. I will say it is very disappointing for a lot of these players to wait so long for changes, and for them to not be happy about them and for them to have real points as to why they are not happy.
I will finish by saying that I truly wish the devs the best luck and fortune in finding solutions to their problems, but I also deeply resonate with the players and their overwhelming frustration with these class changes.
I liked a lot of the demon hunter changes honestly it’s just some people upset that they have to keep playing a rotation with momentum so they can squeeze out more damage. For most it’s likely just a preference thing and minor gripes.
It definitely doesn’t help that Blizzard can’t make up their minds on what to do with each class/spec and tries to reinvent the wheel every expansion. You’re never going to find balance in the game when the classes and specs aren’t static. Basically forcing the devs to start from scratch in terms of balance every two years.
Imagine if they had done nothing but tweaks to classes since MoP in order to balance. There’d probably be a lot more of them, because all they’d have to do is bring the new class up to par with the pre-existing ones and adjust any new spells on old classes instead of juggling 13 classes and 38 specs.
Now that we have MoP Stampede back in the form of Call of the Wild, my only issue with Hunters is they still feel squishy… and Survival of the Fittest hasn’t really helped that when it lasts so short on such a long CD like all the other Hunter defensives.
My suggestion: bring back deterrence minus the no combat restriction and maybe with a root instead (so Hunters aren’t Paladins with mobility, for people who complain about it in PVP), and cut the focus cost for CD reduction on defensive CDs by half from 12 to 6 due to the fact that half our abilities and talents don’t even cost focus anymore.
Imo they haven’t redesigned most classes since Legion. This is the first expansion in a long looooooong time that they are doing a lot of redesign. I see it as a good thing.
Having static classes with talents and spells/abilities that never change for 10 years would suck.
These devs aren’t trying to make a fun game. They’re just cashing a paycheck, trying to get experience so they can work at a company that actually treats their employees well.
This is why all of the new Blizzard games are devoid of soul.
Many (not all) of us resto druids are nkt happy either. They take away agency and control and fundamentally change us from a “coverage” healer to a sorta rng “coverage” with a bit more focus on specific healing class.
Nearly every game in existence that doesn’t change their controls or entirely overhaul their characters/classes every two years but is still fun years or decades later…
In terms of MMOs, I’ve taken years off of FF14, Swtor, and ESO, gone back, and my classes/characters are essentially the same. I don’t have to completely relearn them. There might be tweaks or some new abilities gained from expansions, but it’s not completely different like in WoW.
Been playing D3 since launch, and my classes are basically what they were since RoS released.
If I log into Hogwart’s or Elden Ring or God of War, I will not be met with completely different combat systems.
Idk Man but i really miss my DH. It’s ok if you like momentum but at least make other builds more competitive. I can say the same about frost DK and breath of sindragosa.
