From what Blizzard has said about not wanting tanks to take sudden big hits where healers would have to quickly react, it seems odd for them to have the Ox Stance talent:
Passive
When you take damage that is greater than 60% of your current health.
I think if most healers saw their tank go from 100% life to 40% life in one hit, they would feel like its exactly what Blizzard is saying they are trying to NOT have happen.
Is the point of this passive supposed to be something that has more play and value when the Brewmaster is at a lower life value and gets hit?
The operative word for Ox Stance is current health. If the tank’s about to die, then Ox Stance triggers more often and gives more time for the healer/tank to recover.
you also have to consider that the talent below it which changes it from 60% to 40% of current health is very powerful in situations where big hits of damage are coming out. in addition, the lower HP you get, the stronger this talent becomes. it will start to have a sort of “will of the necropolis from DK” defensive value to it. additionally you are staggering a lot of damage and that stagger amount is much greater than your max HP so you can start to utilize the ox stance value during moments of low HP with simultaneous heavy stagger.
tl;dr this kind of reads as a post of like… tanks shouldn’t have defensives because nothing should hit that hard. this talent bangs. it’s quite good actually. try it out
