That was my initial thoughts. People sooking that it might take some effort, but if it was easy you couldn’t make any profit off of it. Legendaries aren’t going to cost 190k, the recipe is always more expensive as you will recoup it over many sales. If you don’t have much gold, you will progress by selling what you craft. Or have a dual gatherer alt. there is going to be a crazy amount of gold to be made with people pouring so many mats into ranking up.
Once again exposing the casual crowd for the frauds they are. They asked for meaningful profs. This is going to be amazing for people who are willing to put time into their profs. The problem is, they want everything handed to them.

Im only hearing about this now. I started playing in july, i have managed to accumulate about 400k gold across like 5-6 max rank toons. If I have to dump over 1 million gold on my power, or gear Ill prob have to throw in the towel. I dont cave to Mtxs, so ill either become a no lifer and make millions of gold somehow, or quit.
considering the scaling per levels of craft, and the certainty that rank 5, 6, 7, ect is going to happen, what they seem to be setting up is; the cost will likely drop every so often similar to how xp needed azerite levels worked, a month into system lands the requirements will drop by 5% and then another month another 5% for 10% total, and so on.
This is done to really bleed those who min/max hardcore but also hoping get some of the raw gold out of the world
I’m certainly not going to do it. I’d rather just gather and sell and keep my gold.
Bro this is getting deeeeep
Lol, the Brutosaur was announced to be leaving in November 2019. Covid wasn’t even a thing then let alone talks of a stimulus check.

Pick up some professions and sell mats or crafted items like the rest of us. Besides, I’d rather have legendaries be hard to get than everyone running around with them. I mean even epic gear hardly feels special anymore. Thankfully they’re getting rid of gear RNG, so hopefully upgrades feel meaningful and significant again.
Announced? By who? Someone datamined it and Blizzard later joked that dinosaurs were going extinct. The announcement by Blizzard was just a few months ago.
Didn’t you all want to make professions relevant again?

If you are in a mythic guild wanting rank 4 as soon as possible then the costs are probably real - and given it’s the start of the expansion then the auction house prices may be underestimated.
If you want to have more than one legendary that needs a different slot then the mind boggles.
If you are in a heroic raiding guild who isn’t going to start heroic raiding until after the holiday season (like the guild I am in) and might finish legendaries at heroic ilvl then the chances are you have more time to farm a lot of the materials without the huge gold costs (except for the ridiculous shard cost).
Gear doesn’t matter in the long run.
Only mounts and pets last.

I thought we could only wear one Legendary piece of gear anyway so what would be the point of raising all 8 to rank 4? What’s the price to craft and raise a single piece?
Idc. You’re not supposed to have all rank 4 legendary recipes from day 1.
You funneling mats to like 4 per guild people to level a recipe or 2 to max each.
People you make the legendaries for are gonna essentially pay for the cost.
I’m sure some one els can explain it better with better words
Yup, I have so many empty Rank 2/3s from BfA because of the way they hiked up the recipe costs.
You are correct, you can only wear 1 at SL launch.
Only crafters will worry about raising the ranks of all 8 and only if they want to. The more they have upgraded, the more gold making potential they have.
Its hard to say how much it will cost to buy these items from the AH. We will have to see what the market does. Mats for individual items should be cheap to make, but have huge demand at launch.
This doesn’t make professions relevant. It’s the same thing with pvp where they removed conquest from random bg. Will this make pvp relavant too?
Craft professions were relevant, on the alpha, when you coul craft a gear and level it to 200 ilvl, a good way to catch up on alts or a slow, but solo, progress on your main.
Ok that makes sense the people who will want to raise all 8 would be the same people selling so they would be able to recoup their costs. The people who just one to wear for themselves it will be expensive but not too bad. Prices will start off high then drop off as supply catches up to demand. Also if you are not a crafter yourself if you supply the raw mats and cover the cost of the vendor mats most crafters will craft a base item for you. This feels like a good thing as it will breathe some life back into the crafting and social aspects of the game. Also having something that can be worked toward with a definite payoff not dictated by RNG is a step in the right direction.
Well. I hope alchemy works like it’s used to work for past years
Alchemy looks good, they got rid of the separate flasks for different stats so it’s just one flask that buffs your main stats and works like the flasks you get from cauldrons. The battle potions and weapon oils work together where you get an extra bonus when using a battle potion if you are also using the matching oil.
It is funny. I looked up “missing the point” and “dwelling on the minutia” and they both brought me to your post.
Would you rather I said “confirmed it was being removed in Nov 2019”? Would that have some how had made it better for you? We all knew it for a year now and either way it was “confirmed” that it was being removed half a year before stimulus checks went out.
