If there’s no intention to buff our finishing move dmg, at least change our guns to fire damage. A normal 6CP bte can’t even reach 5-digit dmg on some classes simply does not make sense.
Essences and corruption bonuses are helping in pvp situation, but that applies to every other classes too…
I had posted this a while back and I think these requests would balance outlaw.
Outlaw
- Remove Blade Flurry and Bring Back Cannonball Barrage as AOE
- Sinister Strike should ignore Armor because it literally tickles Mail and Plate wearers
- Provide some type of Mortal Strike
- Buff Killing Spree, its a big CD for very little damage and its CC’able (while blade storm warriors are immune and actually do damage)
----Snake Eyes, Killing Spree and Plunder actually did damage pre expac and season 1 BFA and even yet you wouldn’t see that many outlaw rogues in arena pvp.
Outlaw is already confirmed to be getting a Mortal Wounds effect with poisons coming back
Are they? So far the only poisons I’ve seen confirmed was Deadly and Cripple. Would love to be wrong because an MS would be great again.
Its really hard work to get good numbers in bgs, not that I care too much, but it’s like using paper swords. Frustrating. My outlaw has crappy weapons but reading this thread makes me despair.
Guess it’s not hard confirmed, rewatched the Blizzcon presentation and the poisons they mentioned were Instant, Deadly, Crippling and Mind-Numbing, none of the other poisons like Wound, Leeching, or Paralytic were shown.
It’ll probably get Wound Poison back though, it always had it before Legion.
As someone who mained a combat and then later an outlaw rogue for the better part of 14 years, I can say this is factually false. Outlaw is certainly superb in aoe situations, but is one of the weakest classes in singe-target situations. To say it’s the king of pve content as a blanket statement is completely incorrect. It is, in fact, in the bottom 50% of performers, and one of the lowest melee, in the current raid tier, coming in at 17th place out of 24 dps specs. In M+, however, you are correct.
As for roll the bones, I still wish they’d get rid of it and make SnD baseline again. Your solution to RtB would allmost be feasible, but would take waaaaaaaaaay too long to ramp up the damage. I remember back in TBC when getting a combat rogue ramped up would take about a good 45 seconds or so. That was good on those fights back in the day that could last 10 minutes or longer and the class had time to catch up with the other dps, but for today’s boss fights that rarely last more than 5 minutes, a long ramp-up time is killer for a spec.
I honestly think this is actually the best solution, both for pvp and pve. Getting a bad roll with RtB destroys dps. It’s horribly inconsistent. Get a good roll and you’re a dps god. Get a bad roll and you’re stabbing with rusty spoons. SnD is both consistent and predictable, which makes it a better option, mechanics-wise if not dps-wise, over RtB about 85% of the time.
If you care about numbers in BGs you are playing your Rogue wrong
Anyway the problem isn’t numbers the problem is the toolkit and playstyle
source: at least 2200+ rated as a rogue in every expansion in the game’s history. multiple duelist and gladiator titles.
Rerolling is one of the best way to improve your dps because dispatch doesn’t even do that much damage.
RtB is fine.
I’m aware that’s the better damage, but it’s sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo boring to play it that way.
/rtb
crappy roll
/rtb
reroll
crappy roll
reroll
crappy roll

RtB isn’t fine, it’s boring as hell.
It feelsbad, especially when you fight a pack and you get a 5 roll and the combat is over and tank has to afk so there’s no next pull.
Which is a problem… Especially in a pvp competitive scenario, where rng can hinder your ability to do a big go. Which is exactly why the spec is the worst melee in arena.
Give them a debuff that bypass armor and that will solve sustain dmg and burst in one go
Not really, armor pen wouldn’t really help against anyone not using plate. It would only do so much. What current outlaw needs is actual on demand dmg. Our CDS get out damaged by other classes sustain. The only thing it has going for it is ranged kidney, short blind, and tricks. It has no ms and no ranged kick (step kick)
I love Outlaw. I dislike roll the bones a lot. interesting concept, but terrible in reality. outlaw needs access to a healing reduction talent, an execute, and better burst. I can’t wait to see the changes in the xpac
