I remember this ore being semi difficult to get, i know it’s the rare ore of Outland gathering. But i don’t remember it being this impossible to find. Ive been farming Ore for Blacksmithing and Engineering Decours for the last 7 Ish hours now, and have seen maybe 2-3 Nodes. Was it always this scarse, or is something bugged? Anyone else have issues finding Khorium?

Just asked a friend farmer he said it got a lot worst now , good for bots only
Nope I just farmed it fairly recently and got 50 ore in a few hours. (The good thing about black lotus farming is everything seems so plentiful next to that). I did notice there are a lot of people farming. The khorium disappears fast when there are people just hunting for that and not turning over the other nodes. I moved from nagrand (my normal farming spot) to blades edge and had more luck there because less people were farming there.

Nothing for me spent almost 3 hrs running the caves in Netherstorm , frustrating

It certainly did not take an hour. It took me several hours. Also it’s not 50 nodes, but 50 ore. So I only spotted like 25ish nodes
Its always been that rare in fact it actually has only gotten more rare with less people farming them and the introduction of the node system they ahve now.
IIRC Khorium only spawns a given amount in an area, same with Titanium, and wont spawn another unless the current one is taken care of.
Its ALWAYS been the rarest ore in the game.

@Sangunaire - Yeah i feel you there. It suck’s ive gone another 3 hours today and i haven’t come across a single node yet.

@Teishoku - Lucky you! Are you on an empty shard/s? And ive been going back and fourth between three zones.
@Khloros - Yeah i remember it being super rare before, but this just feels nuts. Ill be honest ive had way better luck with Titanium, then the Khorium. But i know the Khorium is way harder to find.
I had the zone to myself for the most part. Everyone was in nagrand. I did luck out because I found a bunch of nodes on my very first pass through the zone.
I’d like to point out that I farm khorium, well not often, but regularly. So I’m pretty familiar with the routes.

I went farming Khorium yesterday and as you say it takes many many hours , 2 hrs with 3 ore farmers in 3 separeted caves and all i got was 4 khorium ores .

No offense taken! Khorium is a fickle one for sure. Rng sucks sometimes.
If I recall Khorium nodes are a rare spawn off Adamantite nodes, so if you arent seeing any Khorium nodes you need to mine/remove the Adamantite nodes so they can potentially respawn as new Khorium nodes.
Titanium and Saronite in WOTLK work the same way.

Yes this is correct. I have so many thousands of adamantite and saronite as a result lol.
You should go to the one place khorium nodes always spawn for me: outlands dungeons, when i’m on a character without mining. 
(If you’re playing on a quiet server cluster or at an antisocial hour, I always had great success with the Isle of Quel’Danas. No, you can’t fly, but it’s a small island and there’s only a handful of nodes that respawn quickly enough that you can do a continuous loop around the island. Since Khorium has a rare chance to spawn in the place of another node, this is a good way to force lots of nodes to respawn close together constantly, meaning you have a good chance of finding Khorium.)

Man, I’ll never forget my original Khorium ore farm in WotLK (when I started) so I could craft the Turbo Charged Flying Machine.

Oh, that’s a good idea lol. I never even considered it. Usually when I’m there I’m so upset that Sunwell has failed to give that recipe on the matching profession again that I just hearth out. I swear it knows what profession I have just so it can taunt me with every other one.
What really REALLY sucks is… I used to have a nice little collection of Khorium ore and bars in one of my guild storage vaults. Guess what happened. The August 2024 Guild Vault Heist that Blizzard decided wasn’t worth their time to fix. And so now I’m mining it again because I just want some damn bottles in the tavern room at my house.
Side note: Does it seem like the crafting materials just don’t make any sense for the housing decor? 8 lumber for a sack of stranglekelp? What is the lumber even doing? It’s a bag of herbs, what is the lumber doing? And why 8 of it? It doesn’t make sense.

Blades Edge for me and mine everything. And yeah, it’s a drag. It might be worth checking prices on the AH.
I will report some good news though. I wanted Titanium (for the train decor) and I circled Shalozar Basin and I mined everything because it shows up after a Saronite node. It was horrible.
Then I went to Ice Crown and began circling. There I found five other players who were not circling the whole place but a sub-zone with a name. It was not quite a hyper-spawn but it was close! So, if you have some buddies or want to start a group, there IS a way to get these rare ores faster.
Khorium is the rarest material in the whole game, spent 16 years of intermittent farming to get 139 ores in my bank to craft mogs. and now we need 72 khorium ores to craft the new decor once, so if we want more of that decor we will need a whole lot more. already these decor are over 100k in the AH. couldn’t they choose hardened adamantite instead of khorium for the decor, it would cost a lot of adamantite but at least it’s doable in a short period of time. i don’t really want to spend days and days of farming to make these!!
and yes titanium is as rare as khorium, but at least you can make titanium with alchemy transmute and it has no cooldown for it, so if you have a ton load of saronite, you can easily get titanium!
I’m hoping they would change these recipe to require less rare materials but it’s unlikely they would do that! the least i’m hoping for is that they add a transmute recipe to alchemy to craft khorium just like titanium!
